After using ArchLinux on my computer for a while, I thought it would be cool if I could install a Linux Distro on my Xbox also.

As I post this I'm downloading "xUbuntu" from the Xbox Linux website. I'm wondering if I can store this as an application instead of it replacing Xbox Media Center.

Is this possible?

I'm just checking because, I have more than a few games on my Xbox's g drive and I don't want to accidentally overwrite them somehow..

I'm interested in the same thing. I love XBMC and don't want to replace it. But I'd like to use Linux, mainly to have a web browser so I can watch the shows streaming on the web (comedy central, hulu, etc)

Everything that runs on xbox runs as an application.

So yes, linux can be launched from within XBMC, as can any game, as can any dash, as can XBMC itself.

Thanks jmarshall. Also just found this older thread (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20869) that mentions installing to save game slot...
