Hello there.

Since XBMC cannot read iTunes 7 shares, I set up a daap-server (Tangerine) on my Mac. The server works fine, I can connect to it from all the machines in the house (with several daap-clients [Amarok, Banshee, iTunes,...]) and play music.
I can even add the server in XBMC, it also connects and shows me all of the playlists. But every playlist shows up twice on the Xbox and all of them are empty.
I've tried XBMC pre2.1 (September 07 build) and XBMC 1.1.0.

Tangerine is a very nice POS (piece of software :) ), it was even recommended in a third party XBMC-wiki. I've also tried firefly, but it's pretty unstable on Leopard.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
direx

Debug it yourself is probably the way things will go.

Most developers do not have or use a daap server, and thus any issues are not seen and will unlikely be fixed.

Does Tangerine run on win32? Most developers don't have access to Macs for testing stuff out.

Have you tried Firefly Media Server (previously known as "mt-daapd") latest 'Nightly Build'?
http://www.fireflymediaserver.org

Get the latest 'Nightly Builds' here:
http://nightlies.fireflymediaserver.org

Firefly Media Server is cross-platform so will let everyone run it :;):

Yes

I have tried the latest nightly builds, and they don't work for me on Leopard (at least not very reliably). Tangerine is cross-platform and open source as well, it runs on Linux, Mac OS and Windows.
The nice thing about it is that it does not need to scan music files like Firefly. It is able to read music, playlists etc. from your favorite media player (Banshee, iTunes, amaroK, WMP) and can even find music files using Spotlight in MacOS, Beagle under Linux and M$ search under Windows:
http://www.snorp.net/log/tangerine/

Firefly is plain outdated and not as functional as Tangerine, therefore it is not an option for me.

Tangerine was recommended here (http://manuel.xbmc.fr/index.php?title=Partage_iTunes_(Daap)) (French )

Any other suggestions? How would I debug daap? Maybe you could try Tangerine and see if it works for you. I am gonna try it on Linux and see if it works.
