Im sorry if the answer to this is elsewhere, Ive spent a while looking for it and havent come up with exactly what I was after.

Ive already been using some software to create a database of all of the films I have, and in the course of maintaining this Ive trawled the internet for the best covers and posters I could find for each film. Now that I have all of these already, is there a way of making them visible to XBMC? I know that its possible to either put a folder.jpg in the videos directory or a .tbn in the video root, but Id rather keep things clean. Leaving my video directory structure completely intact and storing the thumbnails elsewhere, either on the Xbox or on the drive the files are stored on, would be better.

Can I tell XBMC to search a specific directory which contains thumbnails for all of my films, each named the same as the folder containing the film (eg .../filmthumbnails/filmname1.jpg,filmname2.jpg,filmname3.jpg etc).

Thanks for any help.

No, you can't.

You can however browse to find an image for a particular video (from video information screen) and it will cache it for you.

Fair enough. Ill set aside a couple of hours on a rainy day to do it all by hand. Thanks for the quick reply.
