When XBMC 2,0 was released, I when to a moder that soft moded my XBOX and then I successfully managed to upload XBMC via FTP.

After a couple of days playing around with this awesome interface, I took the next bold step trying to make my XBOX boot directly on XBMC. I remember editing some file called default while first made a backup of the original naming it default.bak.

Unfortunately it didn't work and I have ended up with an XBOX showing the text page asking for a repair. Luckily, I can still play games when I boot up with a game disc on the tray but I would really love to get XBMC back.

Any suggestions from you experts out there?

Thanks in advance!

Did you try to boot your Xbox with theeject button (without a DVD) ?
On some mod, this will launch an alternative dash that will give you access to FTP.

Other you should try to check on xboxscene.

easy to fix by installing a modchip. changing things on a softmod without the required knowledge is asking for problems...

Use the "hotswap" method and xboxhdm.

PM for details.
