View Full Version : Any updates on real media playback?
Hi there,
The real media playback from the recent xbmc build is still broken. No video, audio playback is fine though.
Has anyone been working on it?
real media ? RealMedia ?
see now you wasted my time just because I had to ask ...

By writing a useless reply you just wasted a tiny portion of precious life of yours which left you for ever!!!
keep it up, I'm sure you think you'll "WIN" this argument
It plays real media just fine its the nasty media that just pretends to be media that is the problem but all "Real" avi mkv and other files play fine. But the day it plays media that isn't really media is the day we go for the Nobel Prize
So what happens with false media?

Hi there,
I just registered on the forum to find if it is possible to play *.rm file in XBMC.
Is there a way to do so?

You beat me to it.
I can't even remember the last time I came across a RealMedia file. It was a pretty awful format even when it was slightly popular.

So besides arguing over capitals, whats the result here?
When I try to play a RM or RAM file, thee sound is fine, but the video updates about once every 30 seconds. Files use to work fine on my Xbox...
Anyone else have experience with RealMedia play back under Linux?
We'd need you to post a logfile, and maybe a sample of the video - that was the initial point i think.

People still encode stuff with RM? God, I thought that died years ago.
