is there any way that you can view you xbox away from home, for example at school. i think it would be cool to log in to a computer at work or school and be able to watch movies or media that is on your xbox. I'm not talking about web interface where you can access it on the same internet connection.

XBMC has a built-in UPnP MediaServer (capable of sharing almost any media scanned into the XBMC library over UPnP), ...so, if you open the UPnP ports on your router at home (or better yet set it port-forwarding on your router to redirect a other port to your Xbox IP-address). That way you will be able to access your XBMC's UPnP MediaServer via a compatible UPnP client (UPnP MediaServer control-point).

Note however that XBMC is not primarily designed to serve as a media-server (nor is the Xbox design to run 24/7) so it will thus have limitations that you will have to live with. My opinion; get a NAS instead that has a built-in UPnP MediaServer as well and use that to store all your media files on, since a NAS is both designed to serve as a media-server and to run 24/7 you will not have to have your Xbox nor your computer on to access it.
