Top 100 Suggestions

I love the Top 100 feature in Music, I use it all the time.

A couple of things I would like to see in there...

1) Top 100 Artists

2) Show some kind of "count" beside each Top 100 item. Whatever the number it is that is putting that item where it is

3) (This may not be reasonable) Top 100 (Past 6 months)

3. Use a smart playlist should do the trick for that I think for songs at least - order by playcount, with checks on lastplayed.

Well, basically Smart Playlists can do a lot of things but there's no possibility with them for just picking certain album or tracks out of the toplists when using Smart Playlists.

For now I'd be happy if there was a possiblity of changing the Top 100 into Top 1000 or something. Means being able to setup just how many items will be shown in the list. Basically that should not be such of a prob, eh? :)

For later some more sophisticated way of just setting up one's own custom toplists would be 1337.

A Top 1000 list can easily be done via a smart playlist.

All you need to do is select songs that have been played at least once, ordered by number of times played, limited by 1000.

I already use smart playlists for the party mode and they're really doing a good job there.

I know that I could use them to get the 1000 mostly played tracks or sumthing. It is just that I do not always want all of those top 1000 albums/tracks to be in a playlist at once. That's what smart playlists do, they just throw that bunch of tracks into a playlist in some defined order.

It is interesting to see what my fav tracks and albums are and to just pick some specific ones out of those manually. The point here really is picking specific ones. I cannot achieve that in an easy-going way using smart playlists. I'd either have to edit XML files or use the smart playlist editor but that is just not useful and takes too much time since there's way too much music to choose from.

Well to come to a point and like I mentioned before, it could be just cool to make the toplists adjustable for the user, so not hard-coded but configurable via GUI or XML file. So if someone only wants to see top 10 he can set it up for this.

Anyways, you guys have done a great job on the project so far. Keep on doing like this. Peace.

But that's trivial using a smartplaylist. You don't have to play the entire playlist - clicking on it will list the contents and you can pick and choose what you want from there.

The only thing you can't do with smartplaylists is grab albums.

In either case, the item clearly says Top 100. Feel free to submit a patch that will allow it to be configurable via advancedsettings.xml.
