I have read the threads and tried the solutions.

I purchased an unopened original HD AV Pack. It came with a cable for component audio split with S-VIDEO. I tried this cable and a generic component cable.

I do not get the option to go into 720p or 1080i as they are greyed out.
I booted to the original dashboard and I am only presented with Normal/Letterbox/Widescreen.

I have checked and EvoX reports I am in NTSC mode.

My TV is HD I run 1080i with my cable box in HD via HDMI.

Did you check the original Microsoft dash settings?

Thank you for your quick reply.

If I go back to the MSDash then to Settings > Video I am only presented with "Normal", "Letterbox" and "Wide Screen".

I do not see the additional options described by other users.

If the options aren't available, then the pack is not reporting itself (via grounding certain pins in the AV connector) as an HD capable pack.

Perhaps you could photograph said AV pack so that those in the know can advise you as to whether it is in fact suitable for HD?

This is what I bought. It was $5 off of Craigslist but I was told it is the HD pack.

I guess that solves the mystery. It is an Advanced AV Pack.

for HDTV output, you need Component cable (RGB) this pack seems to output only RCA and S-Video.

here is what you need: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/h/hdavpack/
