Is it possible to view videos off the internet not from youtube?

Hi,
Im thinking about modding my xbox and installing XBMC but i have one question first. I know that with XBMC you can search and watch youtube videos, but is it possible to watch videos from the internet that are streaming from other sources. For example with XBMC can i watch tv eppisodes from a website such as fox or nbc(these sites stream them over the net)?

Unless said site uses DRM (Digital Rights Management) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management) , ...XBMC does not support DRM (DRM is bad, mmmmmmkey!)

Please search before posting! For streaming then you might want to browse through the python forum, as if there is not a plugin or script for a large site already, then the chance is big that someone else before you have requested that a plugin or script for that site.
