Hi,

as it stands, i am running XBMC build 2.0.1 that was installed using the gamesave crack.

I have a v1.4 xbox

and amd running the retail BIOS of 5101

(apologies if that information is either not pertinent or not enough)

My network setup is as follows.

I have a linksys wireless g router.

attached to that i have a 1tb fantom network drive that is approximately 50% full.

Up until recent everything has been working mostly error free. I am starting to have what i believe is the beginnings of an optical drive failure as i am starting to get green screens where there were no green screens before, and really wacky audio/video sync issues on games that again were not present before...

And lest i exclude the infamous dirty disk error...

in case it is relevant, many of my games are "archived" so to speak and have been very playable up until a day or so ago...

However, a new error that i cannot seem to identify has cropped up. I do not believe that the optical drive failure is related to this new one, but i felt i should mention it so that whomever can help me will have a broad scope with what i am working with so that the problem can be isolated and delt with more efficiently.

The problem is this, when ever i go to access my 1tb fantom network storage drive, i get an error message that says "error:1073741772 Share not available". Now, i know this to not be true because every other computer in the house on the network is able to access the network drive and watch the video files that are stored on it.

Here however, is the kicker, when i click cancel it takes me back to the available network shared computers (mine, my wifes, and my fathers, and whomever else walks in my door with a laptop and a shared folder). i re-click on the network drive, and magically it is accessed and the folders that are available are accessible with no problems. I am able to view each and every folder, sub folder and video file on the network storage drive.

The files that are stored are in divx/avi format, and again have never had any troubles with them what so ever. Every so often, and now that i think about it, more often then not whenever we go to watch something at some random interval the video will simply shutdown and go back to the directory screen.

So, my question is this. What exactly is going on? I have a few thoughts on the matter that range from XBMC's possible inability to read such a large drive, to an error with the drive, to a possible connection drop off with the wireless card that i have attached to the xbox.

(I should also mention that the xbox is not hardlined to the router, but does have a genuine microsoft xbox wireless card that as far as i can tell works without error).

As i stated before, i am leaning towards an error with the xbox as i have not had any difficulties accessing (read and write) any of the folders and files on the fantom drive from any other computer in the house.

I appreciate the knowledge base, and convey my sincere thanks to all who will be able to help me figure out what exactly is going on. if any other information is needed, please let me know.

oh and because i just realized that i cannot edit my posts, i just wanted to be clear that "and amd running the retail BIOS of 5101" is a typo.

it was supposed to read "and am running the retail BIOS of 5101"

just thought that would be nice to know

as it stands, i am running XBMC build 2.0.1That is old not so please tart by getting the very latest SVN build (google "T3CH XBMC"), ...and then if you still have problems collect a debug log and upload it to pastebin.com (search our online manual for "debug log" for more information, see my signature).

I found the site, easy enough, and uploaded the latest version as you suggested. As it is right now the problem seems to have corrected itself. However I came across something else on my network that leads me to believe that the xbox may not have been entirely at fault.

For some oddball reason, the Network Drive stopped issuing an IP address onto my network (I don't used DHCP cause it makes everything easier to find).

So i power cycled (which usually temporarily makes everything better), and reset the ip address.

But i still don't know why the xbox would refuse to connect, and then immediately connect the second time around.

Either way, thanks for pointing me to T3CH's site, at the very least I will be able to stay updated on the latest versions.

Thanks again, I appreciate the help!
