WMV and QuickTime are probably not the best video formats to use for benchmaking XBMC, the reason for that is that both WMV (from Microsoft) and QuickTime (from Apple) are closed source formats, both undocumented. The FFmpeg developers (who made the decoders that XBMC uses to play those) had to reverse engineer the codecs to get them to play and thus playback of those two is still not perfect or bug-free.
Better would be to choose a openly documented codec formats like MPEG-2, MPEG-4 ASP (H.263, like DivX and XviD), or MPEG-4 AVC (H.264, like x264).
You should be able to find plenty of clips in the bittorrent world...
A small set of clips should be put together and be placed on Bittorrent. I'm sure we can keep them seeded.
Should we start a list of what each one should be?
I will try to create some small clips this week... all I have now are full-length movies.
I found this file while testing the sound on XBMC.
