"Memory Card" formatting

Hey people - this is hopefully a simple one I can't figure out...

I want to reformat a FAT16 USB "memory card" to Fatx.

XBMC Happily recognizes and mounts it as FAT16 but I can't find an option to reformat it...

I understand the MS Dash will do this "automatically" but I need to figure out how to load the MS dash first.

M$ dash will format it.... but only to FATX.... XBMC cant do this at present to any format.

I have experienced many (unreported) file manipulation errors with USB memory & XBMC, this feature still needs work, I would avoid using it.
