No Sound

First thing XBMC is the best thing since slice bread , I have had it installed for 2 years & not one day haven't I used it , Now for my problem

I recently got some shows in MKV format & the XBMC I had wouldn't play them so I decided to update to the latest & Downloaded "XBMC-2.0.1-sourcecode.7z" & Ftped it to my Xbox overwriting the current version but when I tried to start it it would get to the first screen & just sit there :( So I downloaded XBMC-SVN_2007-06-11_rev9273-T3CH.rar version & copied it accross & walla it started fine :) & even better it played MKV files but when I tried to watch a .bin file which my old version played fine it starts up but theres no sound , the picture is fine just no sound at all .. any help appricated but bear in mind I am a Newbie & not to Bright

Forgot to mention I am streaming the videos from my PC to the Xbox , avi,divx,mkv,mov ect ect all play fine with sound ..

There is a bug in mplayer.....I noticed this a month or two ago, but i guess they haven't figured it out yet...
