For someone who doesn't use scrappers or whatever they're called to get video thumbs, how can I get a single folder.jpg/folder.tbn/whatever to show over all files when inside a video folder?
you cannot. inheritance doesnt make sense for videos. you could modify your skin to use container.folderthumb for all entries in the thumbpanel

Ok, how about an "All.tbn" that could apply to all objects in the same folder.
For TV series, you know. And if you really wanted to, you could use it to bypass the default one in the skin, but any cached one or filename.tbn would override it.

Yeah, it could be really usefull for TV series, especially if you don't use the library. I use it part of the time, but a lot of my shows don't get scanned in for some reason
This is a recurring request. But somehow, someone has yet to convince a dev that it is really necessary:

Ok, so here's an example that's hard to debate.
You have just ripped all of your X-Files DVDs down to avi, and you have 200 files named: X-Files - 1x01 - ?????.avi, are you telling me the devs are creating 200 individual *.tbn files for each episode.
I update XBMC every two weeks or so, and I loose ALL of my .db info and thumbnails every time, so I have a .tbn for all my movies because each is unique, but to have to make new ones every week for every tv episode I get would be a huge pain, just to make it look consistent in both. It also would be a pain to put one for every tv ep i currently have.
So please think about it.
I for one think it should be an option, but if a dev doesn't see the need or doesn't want to do it... then you have to come up with it yourself!
But I am curious as to why you scratch your DBs and thumbs every time you update XBMC?
On to your argument.. this is I guess how you are supposed to get thumbs for your eps.
