look in system/players/player/codecs and be certain you have your codecs installed.
This might seem like a dumb query....
But where on my PC or XBOX

on your xbox. i dont know where to get a list of installed codecs other than to go to xbmc/system/players and check in there. i believe you can right click in windows and go to properties to see what codecs you need installed to play that file
umm maybe im missing it but theres no sysetem menu in XBMC theres a settings menu and thats it
Yes but how do i access it
...In the XBMC Menu from where?

ok lets make the asumption that you did this modification...
Option 1. The files you copied onto you xbox... look at the directory structure for the path above and see what codecs you have there (if any).
Option 2. FTP to your xbox where xbmc is installed and repeat above.
Option 3. Use the file explorer in xbmc and look in Q/system/players/mplayer/codecs and see what is there.
Report back when complete... while I understand your new to all of this its important that you understand 99% of what you do, change, update or upgrade is going to be done on the Q drive so throw the PC out the window as well as questions like "where on my computer". Also, the manual and search functions are VERY useful tools I highly recommend making use of.
