Here is my very first wrap-list-patch for Project Mayhem III.
Apply this patch Project Mayhem III (wrap).diff (http://www.noid-project.de/data/Project%20Mayhem%20III%20(wrap).diff)
and add this PNG mirror_mask.png (http://www.noid-project.de/data/mirror_mask.png) to the media directory
Have fun!
can we get a screenshot ?

Could this be committed to svn since PM3 would be a lot better if a wraplist was added.
That looks ok for 16:9 but what about 4:3? I don't think there is really enough space in 4:3 to make it look good.

This is a picture of the wraplist in NTSC 4x3 resolution. It looks pretty good to me.
It looks ok. It's not up to me so what ever the team decides.

I'd arrange the covers more in the middle (vertically).
The team could add this as WrapList2 or 3, dunno atm how many are there already

Thx Coolgamer30 for the screenshots (btw is there a screenshot feature in xbmc?).
But in my patch are a few info labels below the wrap list (in the free space). Have you removed them or are they not working correctly with your xbmc?
This was only a design test to see wrtap lists in Project Mayhem, especially to test if 3 icons are enough in 4x3 mode. Feel free to discuss.
Have a nice day!

personally I would rather the wraplist was smaller for 4:3 so maybe 5 items could still be displayed... Clearity features such a wraplist though I realize you are limited in window space in PMIII.... still might be worth a try just to see how it looks.... nice work either way
Look guys Ive recently been working on a lot of updates to PM3 some will get in some wont (maybe) right now its all going through design / testing and getting team opinion before I add any of it to the official svn but I did a wrap list for videos that look somthing like this
http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/9314/screenshot012ga6.png
Now there is no promise this will get in I just want to show you that PM3 is not being forgotten. But you need to bear in mind that PM3 is the default skin and has to include things that everyone can use as a default without having to change advanced settings (thumbsize cache for xTV poster style) for these things to work proper.
Being the default skin it has to come to a balance useabilty and cutting edge stuff

Looks like my wrap view for Videos. Especially the info lines at the bottom of the wrap list. I don't know why they are missing in the screenshots of Coolgamer30.
Only the "viewed" "not viewed" icons are not (yet :)) implemented in my version.
I will post screenshots this evening.
But it's good to know that wrap lists are comming in PMIII :)

Here is the "new" version (V2) of the patch.
Apply this patch Project Mayhem III (wrap) V2.diff (http://www.noid-project.de/data/Project%20Mayhem%20III%20(wrap)%20V2.diff)
and add this PNG mirror_mask.png (http://www.noid-project.de/data/mirror_mask.png) to the media directory

I did something wrong when I applied the patch the first time. I just applied the vesion 2 of the patch and it has the labels under the album cover now. Here are some pics:
NTSC 16x9 (http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j250/Coolgamer30/PM3WrapList216x9.png)
NTSC 4x3 (http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j250/Coolgamer30/PM3WrapList24x3.png)
How can we choose what video comes to the front? I like how Jezz_x's version is offset. Is that easy to change? Can't wait for this to be fully implemented. looks great already.
also, how do I apply the patch?
hugohuetzel

How can we choose what video comes to the front?
As i know it is only possible to set the focused item in the xml file (fixed value).
But wrap lists are undocumented, so i don't know :confused2: .
also, how do I apply the patch?
On Linux you do the following (On Windows i don't know):
1.) checkout PMIII from svn
2.) go to PMIII folder (cd skin/Project Mayhem III)
3.) execute: patch -p1 < PATH_TO_PATCH_FILE
4.) copy mirror_mask.png to media folder
5.) create Textures.xpr
6.) rename PMIII folder (if you want) and upload to XBMC
7.) have fun :)

Here is the final version (V3) of the patch.
Should be enough to wait for real PMIII wrap list support :)
I have added a second wrap list (with 5 items) to 4:3 mode, so everyone can choose.
Apply this patch Project Mayhem III (wrap) V3.diff (http://www.noid-project.de/data/Project%20Mayhem%20III%20(wrap)%20V3.diff)
and add this PNG http://www.noid-project.de/data/mirror_mask.png to the media directory

do we need the xdk kit to compile this patch into xbmc? will tech add this to the next version?

jarod71: Here are the files for the PMIII wraplist. Just overwrite your skin files with the ones included in this rar. Project Mayhem III Wraplist (http://www.rogepost.com/n/4216050603)
Also T3CH will never add this patch in his builds unless it actually added into the official XBMC svn.

Hi jarod71,
looks like the mirror_mask.png is missing.
You have to create a new Textures.xpr with this png included (in media folder).

The only program you need is XBMCTex.exe (svn in folder trunk/XBMC/tools/XBMCTex/) to create the Textures.xpr file.
Have a look at the script build.bat (svn in folder trunk/XBMC/skin/Project Mayhem III/). This script is used to create the skin.

Hi jarod71,

You have to create a new Textures.xpr with this png included (in media folder).
One addition: with media folder i mean the media folder of the skin, not the xbmc media folder.

i will play with it tonight. not sure what you mean exactly.
do you have the svn address for Project Meyhem III?
so if i download or checkout the latest pmIII, throw the mirrormask in the folder before building, then I use the batch file to compile, I should be good to go right? I was confusing pmIII with xbmc as one in the same. I have downloaded xtv with tortisesvn and used the build.bat to compile, so this is the same right? just add the mirror mask and then build?
thanks so much for ur help. I cant wait to get this going...

There is a media folder in every skin and one media folder in XBMC.
And i'm talking about the media folder of the skin.
do you have the svn address for Project Meyhem III?
PMIII is in the XBMC svn
Browse svn: http://xbmc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xbmc/trunk/XBMC/skin/Project Mayhem III/
just add the mirror mask and then build?
Exactly!
Apply the patch (or take the files from Coolgamer30).
Copy the mirror_mask.png in the media folder of the skin.
Execute build.bat
cannot get that link to work with tortisesvn...
not sure how to get this done. I tried to download source for PMIII and I am ubnable to complete with tortise svn. it errors out.

finally was able to download just the media folder from svn using tortisesvn. got the texture.xpr buit and all looks good. How can I remove the filesize and date when in files view? also, how can I shift the one that comes forward from center to one over like in Jezz_x version?
anyone know if the SVN will include a wrap-list patch soon?
HI PEOPLES
As Promised I have been working on this if you have an SVN client you can try it out from the xbmc svn branch here
https://xbmc.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xbmc/branches/pm3_concept
here is a list of changes as I made before I put it into the SVN branch
Please feel free to test it out and report back I'd rather people didn't include this in any releases of XBMC until it gets added to the main SVN thanks its really only for internal testing right now
NOTE : DO NOT COPY THIS OVER YOUR OLD PM3 FOLDER IT WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes :
Its now a fullscreen skin and no longer uses skin zoom to fill it out this mean proper calibration is needed
New wrap list style Login screen (16x9 not optimised aspectratio yet but you get the idea) also would be better with a fixed non wrapping list
New animation when starting xbmc with and wihout loginscreen if Home is the startup page
Zoom animations on the setting icons
Zoom animation on thumbs when you select them
New dvdwrap list view in Video sections
System/weather/files info no longer dosn't show when playing media it is relocated to the top of the screen while playing else same spot
XPR is a lot smaller due to creative cutting up the backgrounds
few more things maybe not sure :)
Disadvantages :
Well all scripts that use the old backgrounds and rely on skin calibration will look funny and zoomed in But I really needed to make it fullscreen to get the extra pixels for the thumb zooms
* New Layout of the weather screen
* Different full screen script info window with a nice transition animation
* fixed 16x9 login aspect ratio,
* new fixed list jm just added so you will need the latest svn
* Fixed : filemanager text not sliding off enough in home
* added dialogcontentsetting with the scrollbar
Fixed : Pumped up the sizes in home screen to better reflect how it used to be with skin zoom also fixed 16x9 logo image to what it used to be size wize
Added / Fixed : Fullscreen info Alignment, Now Playing infos in the fullscreen now have a progress bar in the info section
Changed : Music no longer has the locked Icon for locked Visualisation instead it uses the Locked/Unlocked Strings from the language file (see screenshot)
Also put the current Vis down on its own line so you can read the real long ones better
http://www.supload.us/thumbs/default/MusicVis.jpg (http://www.supload.us/free/MusicVis.jpg/view/)
Thats just a shot with the progress bar
http://www.supload.us/thumbs/default/Video_Fullscreen.jpg (http://www.supload.us/free/Video_Fullscreen.jpg/view/)
* Home screen video info now displays the video cover when the video is behind the scan lines in the background and when its not it shows video window
* Fixed up the borders of a lot of the small progress dialogs (seekbar, volume, kai notice, musicscan, etc) so they don't get stretched to hell in 720p mode like so
http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/3607/bordersfd9.png
* Made the progress bar in musicscan a proper progress bar instead of that little thing with no end to it
* Readded the Current sytem time to the fullscreen video now playing info also put it in the music one as well, Changed the font color of it to that yellow one so people don't think it has anything to do with the current music
* Got rid of the solid Background (made transperant ) of the home Images in the bottom right (shutdown, submenu, kai, PlayDVD) so now they blend into the background properly and we don't get the effect seen in this image. http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2141/kaicc5.jpg . Also means Login dosn't need its own image anymore so thats a slightly smaller xpr again
* Video Now Playing text in the home screen now moves over when the video box is there and not in the background so its not such a small window anymore. see below ( looks bigger in 16x9 )
http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/8325/homenowplayingsc5.jpg
Added this to the svn branch so people can update it and I can let some public members know about it
anyway heres the direct url its got a build.bat and a copy of xbmctex in it
https://xbmc.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xbmc/branches/pm3_concept/
also I added a new view type to videos and will probably add a similar one to music if no objections

New dvdwrap list view in Video sections
Hi Jezz_X,
looks very nice :)
But there is no dvdwrap list in Video section (yet?)
In DB mode i have this view types:
- List
- List 2
- Icons
- Big Icons
- DVD Icons
- Big List
In File mode i have:
- List
- List 2
- Icons
- Big Icons
- DVD Icons
- Wide
- Big Wide
Did i make something wrong?
it should go
- List
- List 2
- Icons
- Big Icons
- DVD Icons
- DVD <--- thats the wap list type view
- Wide
- Big Wide
If you can't see it you probably need to update your xbmc because its not actually a wrap list more if a fixed position list and the code was added to xbmc recently latest t3ch should be fine I think

Technically its not a wrap list since it dosn't wrap :nerd: but yeah I just added 2 new view types to music the "Album Icon" one looks like DVD Icon view in videos and the "Album" view wich is like DVD view in videos

Very nice. This something I've custom made myself, and it's great to see this finally in the skin as a default feature. I think every XBMC skin should have this feature.

I just checked out the latest SVN an I am very impressed with the progress from the old PM3. I just have a few suggestions, Would it be possible to add a Big DVD Icons, using the tilted icons they look very small in the DVD view (with the cool new bar on the bottom). Is it possible to remove the parent directory icon from the views it tends to kill the effect. and last is it possible to make the TV shows respect folder.jpg for the entire folder (i.e. Watching The Simpsons 17x05, have the now playing show the folder.jpg for season 17) Other than that I've found a new default skin keep up the great work.
