View Full Version : xTV (Apple TV take 1 replica/clone) skin is in the XBMC Skinning Project's SVN
Are you running the build.bat after you download everything via SVN, and then uploading the contents of the build directory to your Xbox?
no. Just downloading and then FTP to xbmc.
The structure after the download looked fine.
I'm guessing I'm supposed to have run that bat file?
hey there, just set up my xbox with your xTV-Skin and have to say that it's the best skin i ever had on my box... real nice!
but of course (just as all the others) i have some points to ammend:
- i think it would be nicer if volume-regulation could fade-in or scroll-in wenn you regulate it with right-thumbstick
- second... is there anyway the Programs/Games - Section could be done more like the Project Mayhem III - Skin (i man that it's seperated in 'Programs'-, 'Games'- and 'Emulators'-Sectioin)
- third: is it possible to have the current playing video being displayed in the homescreen (maybe even in the 'TV-Icon'?) and on the Video-Menu? would be nice
just some additions, anyway thanks for your work, appreciate it!

I just got the latest SVN version of Xtv. Everything seems fine apart from there are two movie items in the home menu + some other youtube items etc. This is ok, but they won't disappear when I go into skin settings and disable them.
Have only tried on XBMC_Pc using latest XBMC SVN.
Is this known? Or am i doing something wrong?

that is not the latest release of xtv and that is why you dont have an option to remove tv shows. download the latest version from SVN.
to remove thumbs and info goto imdb and find out the ttxxxxx number of the movie, then goto userdata/database/imdb and delete the corresponding number,also userdata/thumbnails/video and del number there too.
Dam this is one of my fav skins.
I have a request. Can you add another wrap view where it looks like this below? Because on the widescreen, the movie icons appear too far apart. I have suceeded on making it but now the view option is locked on this and cant change to diff views.

Chief, I just updated my xTV from the svn (it had been awhile), and I have to say, that you have outdone yourself, it is really customizable, and the code is all very clean. Best part is I no longer have to recode half of the home.xml to get rid of the tv, and put back the weather (too bad I can't use dynamic weather anymore :( <icon> so no <info>) but thats ok), but now also a youtube option, outstanding. I also like your new list2 alot better then the one I was hacking together to get that effect.
An absolutely great skin!
BTW, If you are going to add a "coverflow" view, feel free to use the one I posted if you don't have the time to write a whole new one from scratch. :)

i know jezz, I have no problems with it, I was just complimenting him on it :)
The only thing I was down about, is that when I always hacked the weather icon back in, I made it dynamic based upon the weather outside, but with a content list you cant use an <info>, can you?
I had been real busy, and when I got around to updating xbmc and xtv, I was pleasantly surprised. :)

as everyone's throwing around ideas i thought i should too,
i just downloaded the latest xbmc and the latest svn version of the skin and it's pretty slick.
a few things though,
when you go to movies (or tv series) it lists all the movies first. then if you press "back" twice, you get the "recently added movies/episodes" list. would it not be better to just show the "recently added" option at the top of the movie/tv show list? the way it is at the moment it seems quite hidden.
also, the power options seem too deep in the system settings (this is what i use to turn it off and it's considerably longer than the old method).
obviously this is all just my opinion but what do you think?

You can click the right thumbstick to get the power menu (Superfast), not sure if there is a mapped button when using the remote, but i'm sure you can add it in keymap.xml

ok that works, but one thing that's important for me is that anyone who hasn't used this before can just sit in front of it and use it. without me having ot tell them how to turn it off. is there any easy way for me to add a shortcut in the main menu for the power options?
and does anyone else think that the big wide view should have some sort of text telling you what it is (as should the dvd view of movies). some covers and thumbnails are a bit diffficult to understand on a crt. could this also be added by me in some xml?

It was late jezz, I didn't even realize that is what you meant, but now that it's daytime, I understand, so:
I REALLY like the changes you guys made, and the code is super smooth too. :)
I do have a question though, given all the requests for various home menu things, and change this/that, can a home menu function like a media menu, in the way that you can select different views, if so, just use the code from the media views, and let them pick whatever weird view they might want from it, and skin settings for all damn windows (power,scripts,filemanager,credits, whatever), that way all the "can this be on the home page, and can you make it look like this" people wont have anything else to demand.
If you guys do decide to add a circular home view, take mine, but I really think jezz should redo it, his animation in list2 is sooooo smooth.

hey, for some reason when i use xTV it forces library mode everytime. this would be fine but it doesn't search for any new videos when i load it, so if i add anything to the folder, i have to manually add it to the library.
is there any way round this?

Theres two ways to handle this:
1. You can select "Upate Library" from library view to scan in new files.
2. Move your "cursor" around in one of the library views and you'll see a dialog box pop up with an option to uncheck library mode. Basically you need to try to move it off scren.
A lot of these things are easy to figure out if you just spend a few minutes playing around with the skin.

Don't take this the wrong way but Unless I get really really bored one day I will not be doing anything else to xTV ( or unless chi3f asks for help on somthing ). I allready have enough on my plate Skin wise to take up developing xTV as well .
The only reason I did the stuff I did is, I was testing out the new static list animations and conditional visibility after jmarshall added them and xTV seemed a good one to test on. Considering how much code it could save from the huge compilcated version it was. (because at the time it couldn't be anything but ) think in the end I trimmed 700 lines of xml off it :grin:
As for cleaning up the skin It was when chi3f said he liked the view and I could add it I started getting fustrated on mergeing the changes into both 16x9 and 4x3 succesfully and noticed a few inconsistancy in the 2 modes so being me I over did my cleanup :oo:
So after that big ramble I just wrote, Moral of the story is Major changes to xTV wont be from me anymore chi3f is more than capable of doing them himself

the code for the movies button goes like this <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideo)</onclick>
If you want it to open a specific source within My Videos you will have to change it to this.
<onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideo,"YourSource")</onclick>
rename "YourSource" to the name of the source you want it to open. Sorry but I could give you a better explanation if I was at home and could look at the code.

Sugestion:
I think if the skin has the two options of Show Media Overlays and Use Media as background enabled, that then with the Video Media Overlay, it should not show the small video window, but just the movie info as the video is playing in the background.
It works fine with music overlay as there is a VIZ as background, but with video, it looks abit silly with two videos playing.
What ya think?

Question (or you all could also take this as a challange) to CHI3f and the other xTV skinners;
is xTV only meant to be a Apple TV clone/replica or is it suppose to be something more?, (like what you think the Apple TV skin should have looked like). I like to suggest that you also copy the best parts from Front Row (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front_Row) (Apple's response to Microsoft's Windows Media Center Edition, for Apple Mac, Mac Mini, iMac, and Macbook) and then also go beyond what Apple has done with their version, make the XBMC version better (better looking, more intuitive, and smoother animations, etc.), with skin feastures that do not existing on the Macs, but only in XBMC.

ok I've done the folling:

This works fine and take me to the write directory (and not in library mode), but the problem now is at the top it says movies wih the movie icon instead of tv shows. i know it;s a minor thing but it annoys me. I've looking in myvideofiles but i can't figure out how it knows what icon it should put there.
the icon was fine before when it was ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,tvshowtitles)
and that's the only line I changed. Maybe myvideo.xml needs some other code find the proper icon? (compared to myvideonav.xml)

My Video Files doesn't know what your content is.
There is tricks to get around this - basically you set a skin setting in another <onclick> before switching, and show TV shows if that skin setting is set.
Obviously on your movies button you'll need to reset that skin setting.

You'r not setting anything with the visible tag except the controls visible condition.

I only have "tt" 4 numbers in UserData/Database/IMDB, and the numbers in UserData/Thumbnails are different (e.g. 07f4a481.tbn). Is it a case of not having the latest xTV therefore scan now works differently?

I used the last svn to build off of. I did have to rewrite all of the circular home code though.

You can already replace the YouTube button with a button for Scripts.
The other option you're talking about should be a nice freature!

Go to Skin Settings and turn the option 'Replace Scripts with Youtube button' off. It's that simple ;)

It would seem I thought of everything :P
but really, in the skin settings you can turn the circular menu on/off so it can look like the xtv one again. you can swap scripts(the default) for youtube, and can replace the webbrowser icon (the default, but only useful if you are using a build with linksboks included) with the tv icon (either one will be replaced by a DVD icon if you insert a DVD or CD into your xbox, until you remove the disc). And before anyone asks, no other icons can be added or removed just exchanged with others (hence scripts/youtube, browser/tv), it must be always 10, any more or less, and and EVERYTHING would have to be re-coded.
It would be nice if Chief added it to xtv, but he may not, but in it's current state, the return animations to home are still the same a xtv, but I'm not going to fix those little things, because they may not make it part of xtv officially, and it would be a waste of time. xTV is his baby, and he will make it look how he wants. I use xTV set to normal mode, because I like it that way, the mod was only because Gamester wondered what it would be like, and the coverflow was because someone asked for it.
Jezz, have you had a chance to see what's up with the flicker? It's basically your code ideas, so I figured you'd be the one to ask.
but all questons for this mod, should be moved to the circular menu thread, this thread is not for that.
Just added the coverflow view to the video windows.

No, sorry. I do not want to add the circular home menu thing to the skin. I think it strays far from the idea of it being an apple tv replica skin.

hey chief, I noticed you left out the nodvdcase.png so that the reflections bleed together, I know having it makes transparent icons like funny and isn't very color them compatible, so have you thought of maybe not diffusing each icon at a time, but diffusing all of them at once, you know, lay down all the reflections with no diffusion at all, then lay down a diffused overlay across the whole lower screen, then display the top icons on top of all that, it should solve the problem of bleed through, and make it color theme compatible and compatible with transparent icons. if you don't have the time, I'll try to do a proof of concept.

Your version of XBMC is too old you need to update it thats also why you have 2 "movies" items and probably weather and Play disc (on all the time) as well

May I just say that the XTV skin is fantasitc guys, I have been using XBMC for some time now and was getting a little tired of PMIII - I tried many other skins but they weren't what I was looking for.
Your skin is absolutely fantastic:
I don't have the graphical/programming skills, but I have a few suggestions:
i) Could a White Background be an option?
ii) On the main page could Files also be a selectable icon (ie; like YouTube and TV shows), ie; it would be neat if this could be "user" assigned to a specific playlist or script.
Small Bug:
ii) with Karaoke - when Karaoke is used, the user cannot see the lyrics because the CD image covers over top of the words - i had to revert back to PMIII skin to use Karaoke - I don't use it often, but the XBMC has become the center of my home theater - maybe an option to simply not display the CD Album cover when karaoke?

i) a white background is included, at least in the svn build. you just change the skin theme and also the font color

yeah, i was thinking conditional. so we'd have to add more into the skin settings. not a big deal, but it'd be cool to leave that for other customization. we can always get rid of it later i guess if we need the space...

1. This was done on purpose. If you want it to open using Library mode then there is a skin setting to make it do so.
2. This was also done on purpose. Library mode will always take you to your Movies section when exiting it cause regular files view does not sort your TV Shows from your Movies, no matter what skin you are using.
Both were done because the window open/close animations between the media windows and the home window rely on these buttons being setup that way.

It has been a long, long time since I updated my XBMC but today I got the newest t3ch and spent the afternoon tracking down new skins... this is definitely the new hotness. I figured out several things on my own but I still have a few sticky points I was wondering if you guys could help out with.
In order of importance to me:
1) Shoutcast 500 pulls a list but no matter the sort order, even the one that says rating, I can't get it to sort with the highest rated ones first.
2) I've got three video network shares and don't mind sacrificing "Programs" from the main menu to get them all on the main screen (with no need to scroll the main list). They are, in the order I'd like them displayed:
Purgatory (where things live on my file server until they get organized)
Movies
Other Video - This one I would like to link to where "Movies" goes now*
*this way I can link directly to specific share folders like "TV Archive", "Documentary" etc and the local Xbox video folder for the rare occasions when I take the Xbox with me.
Is there an .xml somewhere I can edit with the appropriatepaths/credentials/icon references to accomplish the above?
3) The RSS feed in the main screen does not seem to pull from userdata/rssfeeds.xml... where does it come from?

I have noticed that if you download a thumbnail and add it to a movie in the dvd cover mode their is usually a white line along the length of the left side of the thumbnail. If i look at the image in windows their is no white line. Does anyone else notice this?

The coverflow view in the music sections seems to lagg and studder since the last update. In the videos section ist as smoot as its always been. Im running the latest tech build and updated xtv from the svn. Anyone got a clue as to whats the problem?

Can someone explain to me how thumbnails are cached. I have a very extensive movie collection on my box (about 700) the IMDB scraper works great but it pulls some really crappy thumbnails down alot of the time. I went to cdcovers.cc and downloaded and cropped about 300 covers and went to the get thumb section and i temporarily stored the thumb i created on the f:\ after adding that image i was able to delete it off of the f:\ and the thumb was still their, so it is obviously caching it somewhere. So my question is where is it, because i would like to back it up, i spent alot of time adding these DVD covers manually and would be really sad if i lost them all.
Now assuming that i can back them up, if my hard drive were to crash tomorrow on my xbox and i put a new hard drive in, put the same fodler structure i had before in it and put the same movies inthe folders and i restored the movie database i exported and I then restored the cached thumbnails would everything be back to normal?

brentcatoe, this is unrelated to xtv. There what date of XBMC do you have. The more recent ones have a more sophisticated thumbnail scraper, grabbing multiple hi-quality thumbs you can choose from.

i realized that after posting and I dont know how to move it to the general help area. I am running the latest SVN though, but the images it pulls are usually low quality, misaligned movie posters. I found a few things in the XBMC manual though about caching. I just was more concerned about if my hard disk crashed if I would have to redo everything or if i would be able to restore it.

I have onyl one question. BTW perfect skin I am love just found it today. How is the TV shows menu on the homepage when i click in there it sees all my tv shows but it breaks them up ie.
on the HD i have a folder called entourage -> then 4 other folders name season 1 season 2 etc.. when it reads them it splits it up into 4 folders all named entourage with the folder name season 1. how can i fix this problem. basically i want one main folder then subs in there. is that possible in this skin?

I had a couple questions, Ive been on these forums for a while but this is my first post.
1) Is it possible to change the font size of the video name in cover flow, and also center it? Because in this other one I found named xTV2 (dont know who made it) its exactly the way I want it but there is no Panel Lock option, so every time I press down I get that dumb little box.
2) In case number one is not possible, would it be more possible to add that panel lock setting into Skin Settings in xTV2?

Use the XBMC skin manager (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28000), which can build the latest version of lots of skins (including xTV) and upload them to the Xbox.

I have a widescreen 46" LCD television (1080p) that has te Xbox connected to it.
I'm new to these settings so please understand...
This skin looks amazing on my tv! The only visual problem I have is with the OSD while I'm watching a movie. The text looks like it is huge and the words overlap each other and can't be read. I'm talking about the text for rewind, ff, subtitles on/off, etc.
I know there are a few places to set the output (skin, xmbc, display, etc) but I'm pretty confused. Can someone tell me what settings I need to work on the fix this?

Anyone else getting this behaviour:
The usual Red minus (-) and Green checkmark to indicate a show has been watched or not disappear with the latest build of xTV..
To recreate:
In Library mode, go into a TV Show/Movie folder, locate an episode/movie that has/hasn't been watched (you'll see the red minus or green checkmark), make sure you "stay" on that ep/movie until you get the summary (thumbnail will resize, summary will appear underneath), the minus/checkmark signs are now gone. Only way to get them back is to quit xbmc and restart.

sounds like a bad ftp, switch to pm3 then ftp ur xbox and delete ur xtv skin completely then drop a fresh one in there and switch back to xtv!
Tried that already, and as i wrote in my comment below, i also tried the skin in the XBMC environment on my pc and its the same. I should point out thats the skin is the last update from the SVN, and its on the latest rel from T3CH, also tested with the 2007-11-04 rel from T3CH and its the same problem.
That is because I updated the skin last night to use the new string localization instead of using includes to handle the labels. You will need build 10780 or higher to use it. So unless you can compile your own builds you will need to wait till the next T3CH release.
You are gonna have to settle for the link (http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/9/11/1425223/Skins/xTV.rar) in my sig.
Ok, i don't have the compiler left on my computer so ill wait for the next T3CH rel and i have already managed to get the one in your sig, so its no worries.

I'm having a problem with the Video interface.
I'd like to use, Icon or Coverflow view with DVD's, but i can't get it to show.
I have my movies stored as F:\Videos\filename.iso (and filename.tbn)
but cowerflow doesn't work properly.
If i make F:\Videos\folder\filename.avi (and filename.tbn) it works correctly.
Is it supposed to work this way, or can i do something ?

There are just a couple of things that I would like to be fixed. First of all the choppy scrolling when using the coverflow view. i really dont understand what would be causing it as sometimes it scrolls correctly and sometimes it dosent, strange

I finally popped my cheery last night and updated to the 04/11/07 T3CH build.
To install the xTV skin do I just download from that rapidshare file [what is the minor mod?] and copy it in the skins folder?

First, i love the new view with the dvd covers. Will you implemnet smoother enlarging like in PMIII ? This would look nicer, it is only my opionion. Also have cd covers like the dvd covers would be nice... just some thoughts...

Thanks empty for your help. I used your version of xTV, but it's not working with the intro "Apple TV" video. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the wrong one? The xTV version I was refering to had the ability to turn on/off the intro video from the skin settings menu. What I was looking for was a version of xTV with coverflow (music and videos) and the ability to add the intro video into the extras folder. Can someone help? -g

okay have just loaded xTV and sadly had to change back to PMIII.
Must be stuff I haven't read but a quick solution would be appreciated:
1) on the home page I can see the icons for MOvies/TV/Photos etc but no text; most annoying is that on PMIII when you click on the weather button on the left you get the weather set as region 1; nothing happens in xTV unless I click into it.
2) Text seems to be black on black and in the settings folder I can see the white arrows but no text and in some of the settings I can see a colums of white boxes for stuff I have ticked but no text next to them.
Cannot see how to set white text!

xTV does have additional themes that allow you to change things such as text color and background. But I think what you are seeing may be do to an outdated build of XBMC. Are you running one of the latest t3ch builds?
My build is a month old and I now see someone a page or so ago reported he same issue and CHI3f said latest xTV needs latest T3CH build.

I use the latest TeCH build and I see the exact same issue... Either no font or maybe black on black for most menus except the Settings...

Did you double click or 'open' the .bat file? The first time I forgot it as well, and when you install it on your xbox you will see the a black skin without icons and not all its functions.

Wigwam, indeed I downloaded the skin from CHI3F's signature, and in this folder I can't find a .bat file.
When you download the Xtv skin from https://xboxmediacenter.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xboxmediacenter/xTV/
then you will find the "build.bat" file. Here you have to open the "build.bat" file to create the working Xtv skin folder.

Clean install...
Latest T3CH build 12-17 + latest xTV svn skin downloaded from your sig.
Ran the build.bat
then transferred the BUILD/xTV into my xbox E:\apps\XBMC\skins folder.
I can see text in the Settings Menu, but if I am going above this menu, I see the > but no text.
If I change the fonts to LucidaGrandeBold or default. Same thing.
Changing skin color, or themes. still not working...
I am not desperate enough to give up on this awesome looking skin yet...
Does anyone see that too ? Or have seen it ?

I don't know why but the ./XBMC/skin/xTV/language/English/strings.xml file was/is not loaded which led to missing text from many pages.
I don't know why some of the already defined strings were not reused (like Movies, Pictures, etc...) directly from the original strings.xml.
Anyway, what I have done is copy and paste the contents of ./XBMC/skin/xTV/language/strings.xml at the end of
./XBMC/language/English/strings.xml
Everything looks great now ! Awesome skin !

I got a fresh blank install of xbmc (TeCH 12-17 distro)
Got xTV, ran the build.bat
Transferred the BUILD/xTV on the xbox in the skin directory
no font in main menus...
did the copy paste, it worked...
I apparently was not the only one with this issue for which I did not receive ANY help. So far only this work around allowed me to use this great skin...
Tell me what I am doing wrong and I'll do it right ;)
I suggest you go into system info and look at the build date of your xbmc its at the bottom.
Also post a full debug log to pastebin.com and link it here

I usually get the latest Tech build from xbmp.uk.*****.org.
The one I am using currently is
XBMC-SVN_2007-12-09_rev10941-T3CH.rar
I know there is a new one
XBMC-SVN_2007-12-23_rev11071-T3CH.rar and I will try it before posting the log.
Please note that I already posted a log in this thread and that only a FEW DEBUG line appeared, likely not related to the missing string issue...
I have 2 colleagues at work that also reported the same problem so I am not alone. (They are running the rev10941 as well). Hopefully the rev11071 release will work better.

I have used the XBMC_PC using the 12-23 T3CH build with the latest xTV svn, ran the build.bat and everything seems to work without my string include.
To make sure I went through the exact same process (from clean state) with the 12-09 T3CH build and the missing font issue came back...
I will try to use this latest version on the xbox when I get home and hopefully, it will work
I guess the 12-09 running in 1080i seemed to be the culprit !

I followed the instructions in the first post to get this from SVN. However, when I FTP to my xbox and try to load it, XBMC says incompatible, must be 2.0. What am I doing wrong? I run linux, so I went to XP under Virtualbox and ran the build.bat. It didn't seem to do anything. It would be helpful if there were a readme (or something).

FYI, I've found a way around it by mapping a button on my universal remote to "Shuffle" ("XBMC.PlayerControl(random)") - this works a treat.
If you press left or right from the playlist....... list it will show a menu that has the shuffle and randomize options in it, just like all the other lists in the skin.

IMHO the xTV skin would become much if instead of just trying to stay an exact replica of the old Apple TV GUI, you take and mix the best parts from the old Apple TV GUI, the new Apple TV GUI, and Front Row (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front_Row) in order to get the best of all those three GUIs.
That way the xTV skin for XBMC would be something more uniquie :cool:

I havnt got SVN access at moment.
And since latest XBMC build, Xtv has funny "XBOX MEDIA CENTRE" labels that should be blank.
And i cant memba what file is changed in the XTV SVN that fixes this and I need to update my mates skin.
Could someone let me know?
It was in the last 2 revisions on the XTV changelog.

I'm having the exact same problem that they're having with their xTV skin, my xbox is setup with XBMC in the E drive. The path is E\apps\XBMC\skins\xTV There aren't several xTV folders... there's just the
E\apps\XBMC\skins\xTV\ and then it has a directory tree that includes:

NTSC
NTSC16x9
PAL
PAL16x9

Just trying out skins and gave Xtv a go and I'm most impressed :cool: Chi3f Kudos to you and anyone else involved.
Using the skin I downloaded some themes I tried the xdtv theme and the screen went all black so I changed the colour and it went all white.
So now I want to delete the theme looked in extras and in media can I just delete the file in media or do I need to edit the file in extras?
hey everyone, Great job on this skin, it's great! i have a small problem with my new install i just updated xbmc to the latest build and downloaded and installed xtv from the svn, my problem is that now when i go under my movies and choose the wrap view it puts a black box behind each of my icons, does anyone have a suggestion on how i can fix this, thank you.

Is anyone having problems with the tvdb.com scraper with this skin? When I try to use it it pops up with a screen for me to type in the title of show and won't go away.
Maybe I am doing it all wrong?

Im not sure if im looking in the wrong place, but where is this IMDB option for adding thumbnails? My options menu only shows " que item, play using, manually add to lib, switch media, go to root, now playing, and settings."
Am i looking in the wrong place or do i have to get some thing else in order to use the imbd search?

You need to set your XBMC up for video scraping. See the manual on video library and video scraping.

A few questions :grin:
I use 1 profile for myself and my wife and 1 for my daughter. How could I go about adding last login time to the profile window like is in aeon? I had a look at the aeon code a while ago but damn its confusing!
Also I know there is a shutdown timer, but is there a way of limiting my daughters usage by say allowing a certain amount of avis to be started per session? She has 160gb of movies,music and tv and if I dont limit her usage she will be on xbmc from morning to night

The shutdown timer can be found in the power-menu. just press up on the d-pad when you have selected the power-off button.

I am using the latest version of OSX XBMC (0.4)
I've updated through the svn but I keep getting these two errors on building:
amt-cast-fo.png: ERROR: 88760b59
defaultVideo.png: ERROR: 88760b59
I've tried deleting those two files and fetching them again from svn, but the new ones still have this build error.
Sorry if someone else has already reported this.
i too have the problem of no text in any of the menu's with the xTV gui with latest version of xbmc.
PM3 had the same problem at one stage and needed some changes to fix it.
Any chance someone could take over from chief and get the bext xbmc rolling again?

I just did a build from the current svn (1322). I am using t3ch from 4-6-2008. the skin theme and colors are both on "Skin default", and I see no issues. I do know I had a similar issue months ago, but it was because I had an outdated version of the skin with a newer version of XBMC. If that isn't your issue, I don't know what else it could be.
Yep works 100% fine for me in all resolutions as well maybe look at a debug log and see if you see any skin errors in it
daver: Set the font arial in PMIII, then activate xtv and choose lucida. That worked for me at least.

Does anyone esle have issues with the overview of movies and tv shows spilling outside of the designated area in the list views? I also often see the overview and such appear overtop of the initial info viewed. I tried taking screenshots on the windows port, but it keeps chaning the view when the screenshot is made. I'll try to do some on the xbox when I get back in town.
XBMC now has integrated support for mythtv allowing the watching of live tv and recordings. This is a great feature but at the moment it doesnt work as well with xTV as with PM111.
As can be seen from the screenshots below xTV misses the program information from the Live Channels screen. Would it be possible to modify xTV to be compatible with Live Channels and show the program information? If this is fairly straightforward and someone can point me in the right direction I will have a crack at it but if complex skinning then may well be beyond me.
I think the screenshots show how great this feature could look in xTV. Perhaps the program for the selected channel could be shown below the channel icon or alternatively the channel icon made smaller to allow the programs to be shown next to each channel as in PM111? Thanks

Why don't YOU do it.
Jezz_X had to learn to skin from scratch just like everybody else - he has more than enough (much more, in fact) to keep him busy with doing what HE wants to do.
Do a bit of reading and have a crack at it yourself.

HEHEHE yeah what he said :laugh: xTV has never been and never will be my skin I have done a few little things on it to help chi3f at times and thats all
The skinning engine really is simple to use once you figure out the basics give it a go you wont be disapointed
xTV is even a pretty good skin to start with since pretty much all the files (except the view type ones) are in the one dir so you only have to edit most files once. Also because of its simple layout these days its probably easier to read and work out than Project Mayhem III is. :sniffle:
There is even a couple of xTV skin mods on the xbox-scene forums that have had some updates done to then
As I mentioned in my first post I am happy to have a crack at it myself was just seeing if someone could point me in the right direction as to which files to start editing to achieve the changes I want. Anyway will get stuck into it and post back when I have made some progress.
