Hi again,

While I'm waiting for a response on the SMB workgroup issue I might as well try another question.
1. I tried to connect Nero MediaHome with the xbox, but I did'nt succeed. I can see the Nero server in my xbox (upnp server view) but when I hit it nothing happens. On my computer I can't find any connected clients either. What am I missing?

2. Can the Nero MediaHome play rar-files? img-files etc. If that's the case how do I do it?

3. When I use Media Connect 2.0 I get a connection. But I cant see any other files than avi. Can it handle rar-files or img-files? If that's the case how do I do it?

First of all; known that XBMC's UPnP AV MediaServer (UPnP-server) was only designed (and only tested) to work with other XBMC Xboxes, now it should also work work with other UPnP AV Control Points (UPnP-clients) as UPnP AV is an open standard/specification, however not eveyone has followed that standard/specification to the word and some UPnP-clients may have bugs (or XBMC UPnP AV MediaServer may have bugs) which can and will cause compability issues. All you can do is test and report your finding with a full debug logs from XBMC (and Etherreal or Wireshark network logs if needed) so a developer can have a look at it to see if they cvan make it work, maybe they can, maybe they can't (in case the bug in in a third-party software/hardware UPnP client).

1. I tried to connect Nero MediaHome with the xbox, but I did'nt succeed. I can see the Nero server in my xbox (upnp server view) but when I hit it nothing happens. On my computer I can't find any connected clients either. What am I missing?Maybe your your firewall (hardware or software) or your anti-virus is blocking the UPnP ports, try opening them. Post a debug log from XBMC if it is not helping.

2. Can the Nero MediaHome play rar-files? img-files etc. If that's the case how do I do it?No, as far as I know XBMC is the only player that can parse RAR and ZIP files on-the-fly, however there are a few others that can parse IMG and ISO files, but the majority of UPnP AV Control Points and Media Renders (UPnP-clients/players) will only play AVI, MPG and WMV video or MP3 and WMV audio as they need to regognise the media format/container to even be able to see the files.

3. When I use Media Connect 2.0 I get a connection. But I cant see any other files than avi. Can it handle rar-files or img-files? If that's the case how do I do it?No, same as with Nero MediaHome, ...and the same probebely goes for all other UPnP AV Control Points and Media Renders (UPnP-clients/players) you can think of. Note however that you might get slightly better result (on common media files like avi/mpg/mp3/wmv/wma, but not rar/zip/img/iso) with Windows Media Connect 3.0 (for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows XP) or Windows Media Player 4.0 (for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista), as Windows Media Connect 2.0 is so old now that Microsoft pulled it a couple of weeks ago.
