Hi. I have a query regarding the hi-def capabilities of xbmc. I realise that it can output hd if you make the right settings and get yourself the hd pack but is it only the movies/games that look better or the actual xbmc gui also? I ask because I notice there are no 1280x720 images in the media folder of xbmc's PMIII skin, the largest it 720x576 which is standard Pal resolution. So, how can it be making the most of a 1280x720 output when there are no images of that size in PMIII? Or perhaps I'm missing something. Plmk

Its better all the way around but you might want to set at 720p because 1080i can put a strain on system resources.
Trust us it looks better
It could look even better yes if the images were made bigger but then you also encounter more memory usage and more lag

Just look at it in the PC environment. It looks A LOT better.
And by the way, hd ready tv's cant show 1080. They show 1080 on 720 res.
Sollie.

Sollie,
What do you mean? My HDTV, as do most in the USA, run natively at 1080i, not 720p. They automatically upconvert all 480i, 480p, 720p signals to 1080i.
HD-Ready here in sweden is an abomination. It means that the tv is capable of showing atleast a verticle resolution of 720. that means a 640*720 COULD be marked as HD-Ready.. yeah EU and Sweden suxx sometimes.
Most HD-Ready tvs here are 1366*768 in res. Those who have a native resolution of 1920*1080 is called Full-HD. 1080i was never a biggy here. we went from crappy wrong res 720p to 1080p :)
