Hi folks!!
It's been a while since PDM has been updated, and some of you may wonder why. Well i can tell you that i was kind of busy these past months with personal as well other side projects and one of them was a new XBMC skin called "Clearity" or codename: "ProjectX". there were some goals that i wanted to accomplish but not many, one of them was to try and break the common button usage on the left and place them like tabs above the actual menu to increase space for the lists, panels, etc. also i wanted a clear looking skin with some custom options for users to use their own backgrounds if needed, so just the basic stuff.
It also takes advantage of the highly new and top-of-the-line XBMC skin engine features like new lists and icon panels, wich we can only thank one man for .. jmarshall. these include better handling of dialog overlays, better list and icon panels, Wraplists.., better .The skin is in beta stage and this means that there can be flaws, ..hmm there will be flaws, so please report them in this tread if you encounter one so they will get fixed sooner or later.. thx in advance.

TortoiseSVN gives me this:

Ok used my brain as instructed and ran the build batch file. As instructed FTPed the built clearity dir to my xbox.
In the apearence section the clearity skin is greyed out when I try and select it I get
"Incompatible skin we require skins of version 2.00 or higher"
Im running XBMC-2.0.1-FINAL-FAT-T3CH.
Any Ideas where I went wrong?

Stuff I noticed right away:
- when I'm doing a lookup on an unknown album, the "manual"-button overlaps the "cancel"-button.
- Of course, the "Sort by"-button has that little arrow overlapping with text.
- In 'Skin options', when I go browse for a custom background image, the drive location overlaps with the Xbox Media Center SVN text at the bottom. Also, in the same window, the "New folder"-text exceeds its button sides, unlike the "OK" and "Cancel".
- In the weather screen, I have location NLXX0037, which is Deventer/Teuge. The name overlaps the date on the right. Also, choosing another town doesn't refresh the name, but displays the weather.com-code I use (ie Amsterdam stays NLXX0002)
- In the Pictures-tab in Home screen, there's an option for slideshow, but this takes me to a manual view, so no pan and zoom effects are applied and I have to advance manually
Furthermore, I'd like the text on the tabs in Home screen to be a wee bit bigger, for readability. That's all I really encounter right now.
Man, this skin is sweet!
A while back I saw a post by Sollie, stating you were working on something really awesome, and I thought it'd be something like a cool theme for PDM or MC360... So this is literally even better than I imagined.

Download TortoiseSVN.
Create a folder somewhere. Right click -> SVN Checkout.
Type in the URL of the repository:
https://xboxmediacenter.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xboxmediacenter/Clearity
That should be about it. You can go to http://xboxmediacenter.sourceforge.net if I screwed up the URL.
Once it's done, run the .bat file and copy to your xbox/XBMC_PC.

it is beautiful. what can we use all the extra space for in the main menu screen? also, how do i show the cd cover that looks like a jewel case? is that just the icon? and how do i bring up that info on the screen? all i can bring up is the media controls.
It has great promise. i like what i see and didnt catch any errors other than what was stated already. I only played with it for a few minutes however. looking forward to optimizing this skin and my thumbnails to go along with it.

First of all - GREAT JOB! - looks quite promising!
Next to things already report I noticed in the Video Screen that the titles are overlapping.
I am running XBMC newest official built at 1080i on a Sony KDF-50 HDTV

I installed tortoiseSVN and rebooted, then followed the directions in this thread.
I created a local folder (a couple different ones, actually), then right clicked on it, chose 'svn checkout' and entered the url (ensuring the url was correct by bringing it up in my browser), but I get the following..
Error: PROPFIND request failed on '/viewvc/xboxmediacenter/Clearity'
Error: PROPFIND of '/viewvc/xboxmediacenter/Clearity': 301 Moved (https://xboxmediacenter.svn.sourceforge.net)
ps - it doesn't matter if I use https or http, I get the same error...
help an SVN newb?

Oooh woot woot woot - just noticed - the skin has a custom background feature - now THAT is freakin' awesome!
And here we go we a feature suggestion ;-)
I really love the custom background! If you it can be done for future updates it would be great if we could have a different custom background for all the main sections ( videos, pictures, music, weather, programs )

congrats on the release of this skin, it's much more awesome than PDM, which was already extremely good work. Assuming you keep this relatively up to date it'll become the skin I use for everything :)
Will try to give it a thorough testing and report back any bugs I encounter, running an SVN build from 2300 PST January 3rd 2007.
Will also attempt to post a n00b-friendly explanation on the backgrounds once I figure out how you're using the feature.
first bug: the time display in the top-right corner of the screen and the text in the top left of the screen slightly overlap the tabs inside the Settings windows. This may be by design, but it looks slightly weird, especially since there's a ton of empty space underneath the window where it could have been scooted down to make it all fit with no overlapping.
Second bug: In Skin Options, once you click the Enable Custom Background button, there's apparently a non-working text label at the bottom-left corner of the window which is in the same position as the current path display. It displays "Xbox Media Center SVN", which is usually caused by an incorrect Info text label being asked for. Been a while since I did a lot of skin coding, so can't remember exactly how you cause this.
This is under NTSC 4x3.
Also, I second the request for per-section backgrounds, though I realize how much more complicated this makes the code, as I implemented this in my Remix skin project.
Currently, to use the custom backgrounds you simply go to Slom Settings, click Enable Custom Background, and then select a directory where you have a bunch of images you want to display in the background. Then the skin will display those images as a slideshow underneath everything else in the skin.

-In the Edit Source dialogs, the title text is displayed slightly too low, and there is no keyboard accessible, so no way to type in or edit pre-existing bookmarks! :(
-with custom backgrounds AND visualizations going, its very hard to see the GUI on the Home screen on my crap TV. Would increasing the opacity of that layer a bit help? Also, I get really bad framerates, which lead me to the next bug
-There is no way to disable custom backgrounds once you turn them on.
-the numerical display for the current volume level is screwed up a little in that it displays the first few digits and then ... instead of the entire number
-in My Programs, trying to get the Trainer Settings menu causes the system to hang :(
I don't suppose anyone would be willing to package this up for someone who can't get tortoisevsn working?
I've tried it on 2 pc's now.. same error on both (see my last post).

but I don't understand why I would get this error when others wouldn't.. I did the standard install of toroisesvn, rebooted, tried the url exactly as it is linked from the article on xbox-scene.com (the repository displays when I link via my browser), but I still get

I believe my SVN issues may be due to an ISP imposed proxy? I don't have one setup anywhere on my network, but I know Shaw Cable uses proxies, and from the 5 or 6 pages worth of googling I did, it's either a host issue (obviously not) or more likely a proxy issue..

A few minor things i found:
On the shutdowndialog, when selecting timer text gets cut of (use a wider label)

Also when enabling custom background, there is no way of turning that off without resetting the whole skinsettings section..
first of all, very nice work. the skin is elegant, attractive, and has a similar feel to PMIII, which is a good thing.
i've found only one bug other than those already mentioned: video calibration leads to a pure black screen (i am running at 1080i NTSC). no freezing or anything like that, as any music i'm listening to continues to play and i can exit from the black screen easily.
not an enormous problem, as one could just switch back to PMIII to calibrate, but would be nice to have working. wouldn't have even noticed if i hadn't installed the latest SVM to my "test" XBMC installation without copying over my prefs first.
also, in order to feel like a real beta tester, i checked it in all the resolutions i could (all NTSC), so if anyone can duplicate at PAL resolutions, that info would probably be helpful.

one other thing: wide icons do not appear to be sud with this build.
while this is completely understandable given the fact that wide icons were only included as of the 1/1/07 build of XBMC, i wonder if there are plans to add this ability to future versions of this skin?

First off, I must say AWESOME skin! Nice nav alternative, and I can FINALLY run XBMC at 720p and 1080i with enough memory left to launch AMT & fetch IMDB info! I know the skin is still in beta, but please please please don't get carried away and hog up all the ram with a bunch of eye candy. :)
Now, for a little picky bug: When viewing the list of videos in "icon" mode, the title text overlaps the icons on the following row. This happens in 480p, 720p, and 1080i.
jah, I figured it out, it was because I did a checkout on the entire SVN repository and not just the Clearity folder.

First of all Thanks for all the great responses :nod:
I'll check each report and try to fix it.. it may take a while sometimes, but thats because theres plenty of stuff to take care of, sorry. Anyways .. i kind of extended the music/video overlayers now to show everywhere (not included Home and fullscreen) when the UI is inactive for 20 seconds, you can turn this off in playercontrol or in the skin settings if you dont like it.

Regarding the "Enable Custom Background" .. some of you wanted to reset only the Background option so i made it a Togglebutton. When you have actually set a background the button will switch to the alternative layout wich says "Reset Custom Background" and you'll guess what that will do ;)

I was running it on the pc and I noticed that when I use the mouse to hover over the movie covers, left or right, in big wide view, the animation is very smooth (seems to almost ease in and out), why doesn't it feel like this when you use the arrow keys, its a little rough...
I know it's still a working progress, so don't take my comment as a complaint! awesome work!

My Videos -> context menu -> delete -> confirm dialog - doesn't delete when you choose "yes" - just goes back to the list

Firstly Excellent Work.. Visually Fantastic!!
One thing i have noticed.. in the IMDB viewing menu the title of a selected film over laps with the "my videos" header. (worse in CGothic font) (Pal)
Also find that the use of the white/grey text means that a dark background is really required... option for the theme to incorporate light and dark text option?
Will be keeping tabs on the SVN...

Great elegant skin!
I found 3 bugs:
1. When playing a video file, in the video settings, I cannot save new default.
2. Adding new profiles doesn't work very well.
3. In "System Info" tab, the last line (mplayer version xxx) is out of the box (720p).
Suggestions:
1. Is it possible to add a botton for "play DVD" on the main window, when a DVD is in the DVD drive?
2. Is it possible to add a feature as "use random wallpaper in a folder"?
3. Add "Restart XBMC" in the shutdown menu?

First I want to say that this skin is absolutely beautiful exactly what a good home theater needs. The only issue I've really noticed:
DialogNetworkSetup (I think) Videos>context "Add Source">"Add Network Location"
Will not allow focus to the OK/Cancel buttons. The xml gives the proper id to follow but the cursor just wont go down there.
There might be some visibility issues with high contrast backgrounds with the font... might try to figure out how to either darken the menu overlay in that case.
Only other question I have:
Is there a way to tweak the Wrap List? I want to have the active object zoom out a bit more:grin:

Vashie: Ofcourse - see CommonContent.xml I think it's in.
Look for <control type="wraplist" id="?"> and then at the <focuseditem> stuff. Just change the size of the resulting thumb to whatever you like.

Ok, soo... I downloaded the skin, made sure I was running the latest XBMC, and I find that it's incompatable. I'm running 2.0.1...
someone had the same problem as me, and they were told they needed to upgrade...
well thats cool and all.. but the latest one I see see is 2.0.1... anybody care to clear this up?

very simply "2.0.1" is not the latest version of XBMC. I know, thats a huge leap of logic to make. You want to get the most recent T3CH SVN build you can find. No, we cannot tell you where to get that, as thats against the forum rules for legal reasons. The keywords T3CH, SVN, and XBMC should be sufficient to give you a list where you can pick the most recent one in whatever place it is you go to try and get this app...
That's what you get for running on! Plus it's not like you to give so much help.

I'm sorry if I ask for something that's already in the new skin.
But I would like to see the time in the video OSD. In the skin I use now I have put in a label with the system.time in de dialogseekbar.xml with a small transparent background image behind it. I like to know what time it is when i'm watching a movie and don't like to go back to xbmc's main page to get this info and i don't have the luxury of a front lcd panel.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with the skin or not, but for some reason when using this skin I can't connect to kai, although I'm not having the problem with any of the other skins. Can anyone else check to see if this is a problem?

I am using the latest files fro Clearity and a 1/1/07 build of XBMC. The skin works partially but in any of the graphical views (eg Pics/Album Art) the main centre image just isn't there. I can see the smaller faded background images along the top and bottom but the middle third of the screen is just black.
Am I doing something simple wrong?

It doesn't work for me, the skin loads and i can play around with all setting but as soon as i go into any media menus i.e My Music, My Pictures etc... the screen goes gray.
The xbox seems to live cuz i can eject the DVD tray but it's othervise dead and does not respond to any pressed keys, rebbot is the only way out.
Too bad, it looks really nice!!!!

if doing a svn update of this and pdm is it ok to build the new version over the old one or should i delete the build folder (or at least the contents of the build folder)?

Yeah! Do a clean update of XBMC :) All will work perfectly then.
I am pretty sure my update is clean - XBMC was originally on C when I bought the box so when I updated I put in a totally new install on E (as advised in the wiki) and set all the shortcuts to it.
The only thing I kept was the user folder - is that what needs cleaning up?
(Can't do it right now as g/f is addicted to Lego Star Wars II and will be on there for hours!)
Well i had exactly the same problem... updated XBMC and still had EXACTLY the same screens as you posted... navigation worked but black overlays all the time. Removed XBMC whacked a new copy on and perfect :)
Bring up system info on your xbox and check the build date something tells me yours is older than you think ;)
I'll check that - It's definitely an update from the last point release as there are a few changes and was titled as the first build of the new year but I think I remember seeing a 2006 date in settings so i'll check. Thanks.

Looks very attractive - think PMIII has some competition. Still find the text a little small to read (on a 28" widescreen CRT) especially top menus but also album names etc.

XBMC-SVN_2007-01-09_rev7554-T3CH is out.
I am having an issue with the IMDB function under this skin. I am unable to select the movie thats returned at the top of the list when the IMDB query returns the list of possible movies. I can scroll down and select any other entry, but not the first one. Even if it only returns one entry..
Anybody else having this problem?

I think i have found a little problem in the Weather settings- I can pull up the weather settings, and try to change the area code ,I can get it to display my local info but I cant save it. I have tried all three city's with the same result. I am using svn 231. I really like the skin .

1. You can disable the background visualization in the Skin Settings on the home screen.

When viewing the list of videos in "icon" mode, the title text overlaps the icons on the following row. This happens in 480p, 720p, and 1080i.Fixed in latest SVN :nod:
In big wide view, the animation is very smooth (seems to almost ease in and out), why doesn't it feel like this when you use the arrow keys, its a little rough... I dunno tbh .. nothing i can do about that i'm affraid.
Noticed there is not a tab for "system info" within the setting or sstem feature... any chance of reintroducing this? handy for an overview of the system status/space and versions..I dont see why as you can do that everywhere by using the shutdownmenu, and i hope that the system page will get an update soonish so that it's no longer a prefixed setup, but rather something that a skinner can make.. i mean make tabs/groups with whatever info i want to show etc ..

The builds I'm using is 219. I can never get TortoiseSVN to sucessfully download the SVN builds.
Don't want to bother Smokehead with bugs already fixed in newer builds.
Maybe this issue have been discussed before, but I haven't find any regarding this. When I press pause og ffw, in both MP3's or AVI's, there are no progress bar og info bar visible?!

There is a black bar with nothing in it under the progress bar when playing an AVI file and doing a pause, ffw etc. And the time left/time progress indicator is almost invisible when pausing MP3's in main screen/menu because it's floating over the menu text.
And one more bug: When doing an IMDB lookup, if there is only one selection of the movie, it's impossible to choose it. There is no way I can use the "ok" button to select the movie in the IMDB list if I only get one hit after a search.

one thing to note is that its seems to be more sluggish than PM3 as well. i switched back and forth to test a few times. PM3 has much fewer thumbs in the panel because it only uses up about 3/4 of the total screen real estate.
due to this and the fact that large thumbs seems to work a bit better, i believe it may be related to the number of textures displayed in the panel. i need to do a little more testing to see if the same thing happens with the standard folder image or not. if its just related to the nmber of textures displayed in the panel, i would expect to see the same thing with the standard folder icon.

Regarding the thumbs: The "sluggishness" is directly proportional to the number of thumbs it has to load on scroll (ie the number per row if it's a vertical scroller). The same thing will happen in PM3 if you increased the number of thumbs per row.

So am I the only one experiencing the problems with Xlink?
I have to switch to PM3 to do my gaming.I have spent at least 2 hours trying to make kai work in clearity but I am still not able to view individual games and launch them for play. Also Sometimes when trying to back out of the kai screen it crashes forcing me to do a manual reboot.

I know the background animations arent working as of yet do I whipped up this little mod to allow us to choose a background animation. Here is the Other Options screen with the mod before the animations is selected:

after you push the button the file browser will pop up and let you pick the folder with the images yo want for the animation. Here is what it looks like when an animation is chosen:

I made a new Wraplist with reflection today, so i hope you guys are gonna like it.. (this requires latest compiled XBMC).
I will also look into the Kai issues mentioned earlier and see if i can fix em later today + some other posted issues.
But since my Xbox is death atm i cannot garantee they will be fixed because i can only test on xbmc_pc so not everything will work for me .. but most things do ;)

And no i dunno yet what to make as default animation, so suggestions or even the actual animations are more then welcome.
Is there a way to set different background pics for each setting. Like one for video, music, etc. I can enable custom background but it uses the same pics for all of them.
Anyone compileded a newer build than 241?

Loving the progress that's being made with this skin, its progressing so quickly!
Just to report that there's still a problem with adding a SMB source (well it may affect uPnP too). The sizing of the windows is all fine now but once you have selected the location you want to add you cannot select 'OK' or 'Cancel' in order to get back to the page where you name the source. The only thing you can do is press 'back' which just cancels the selection.

SmokeHead, I am loving this skin more as I try out its features, particularly the Now Playing window:

One observation though...when in full screen visualization mode the Now Playing window appears and covers most of the screen, blocking the visualization. Don't get me wrong, I love this addition. However, I think rather than make it appear after 20s of inactivity (when in visualization mode), it should replace the WHITE button music info at the bottom of the screen. Then it gives the user a choice whether to display it constantly, for a few seconds when a new track starts, or only when activated manually with the WHITE button. SmokeHead, I am loving this skin more as I try out its features, particularly the Now Playing window:
One observation though...when in full screen visualization mode the Now Playing window appears and covers most of the screen, blocking the visualization. Don't get me wrong, I love this addition. However, I think rather than make it appear after 20s of inactivity (when in visualization mode), it should replace the WHITE button music info at the bottom of the screen. Then it gives the user a choice whether to display it constantly, for a few seconds when a new track starts, or only when activated manually with the WHITE button. Plus it looks much cooler than the standard music info at the bottom of the screen.
I am still trying to figure out all the settings for this skin as well, so perhaps this is a setting someplace, but I ran into this issue when playing Karaoke files. The now playing is great, but it would be nice to be able to either turn it off, have it disolve quickly or only appear at the start. When a karaoke file plays, the now playing pops up and obscures the words... maybe a rapid fade or alternate size would be a good solution.
The size of Now Playing is fine IMO. Ideally it would behave exactly like (and take the place of) the "standard" music info at the bottom of the screen.
One thing I really love about PDM is the little weather icon + temp indicator that can be in the corner of the main menu. Could this be added to Clearity?

Just starting to look around at this skin - very nice - a few comments -
I also like the weather/date/time on the main page.
More importantly - when browsing my music library - sorted by album/artist - wraplist 1 - it is very nice that the album name is in the bottom box - anyway to get the Artist name to display in the top little box? This would make it great - sometimes even looking at an album cover you can't tell who it is (plus this would be good for albums without art).
And wraplist 2 - shows 2 rows (both the same size as wraplist 1) and it isn't formatted right - I don't know if this is supposed to be 2 smaller rows in the same section?

one other comment - on the full screen display - when you push the "menu" button on the dvd remote - it brings up the little 4 way icon but it also brings up a huge (fills most of the screen) seek bar - I am not sure why this needs to pop up here - I would rather not see it or have it real small in the upper right corner.

The second "row" is a reflection of the first row. Reflection was only added to the skinning engine a few days ago, so if you are using the 1-09 T3CH or anything earlier, you won't see the reflection correctly.

Please, please change the seek bar. It's way to big, it covers almost the whole screen so you miss parts of whatever video your watching.
Also, it shows up when you hit menu and covers half of the OSD.
And it shows up when you bring the Video info up as well.
It's very annoying..
Maybe move the seek bar all the way to the top of the screen and get rid of the "Seek bar" text and borders.. Or at the very least, make it see through.

I believe thats fixed in one of the latest XBMC SVN builds.. This happend to be a few days ago, but stopped now. (And I do daily builds..)

just wanted to let you know, you still cannot focus the "OK" button when adding a network source via the dialog menus (file list>context menu>add source>browse>add network location) you can fill in the data for the server listing, but it will not allow you to ok out of it.
Also wanted to let you know that the seek bar overwrites the OSD menu for videos (I know you're redesigning that) but it covers over the dialogs that can be chosen from the OSD.. They have focus but you cant really see what your doing because the seek bar is in the foreground..

I also changed the viewmodes a bit, cause people didn't always find it obvious wich item had focus in list/panels so i diffused the nonfocus items a bit, hope this is better .. they stand out better now imo... The small 5 item wraplist now has info labels that show information depending in what media section you are.

With the most current versions of everything - this is looking good.
A few comments/requests:
1 - on wraplist and bigwraplist - in the music library - by album view - sorted by Artist - Can you please display the Artist Name above the Cover. This would make it much easier to browse using the best looking view. Nice touch in wraplist scrolling some album info.
2 - On the full screen display - when you push menu (in order to bring up the little control icon) a GIANT seek overlay pops up - can you either remove this or make it much smaller and put it in the corner. Also once you select something from the little compass rose icon - i.e. visualization options - the seek overlay remains and obscures the options screen.
3 - Another suggestion for the full screen display - is to make sure the Now playing option doesn't pop up - I know that you can turn this off globally but it would be nice if on the full screen display mode - it either didn't come on - or was smaller and popped up along the bottom of the screen (like the album cover does when you select the title).
4 - When going to playlist and setting view - i.e. Big Wraplist (which when displayed at the little tab at the tops - bleeds over into the next tab) - then leaving playlist and then going back to playlist - the view resets to list again. Would be nice if this view locked when changed
5 - Request to put weather info on the main page as an option - just the current weather (temp and little thumb) would be cool.
6 - Also on the main page - anyway to set the option that if left on this page for a certain amount of time - then it automatically switches to the full screen display view? (or the buttons and frames disappear).
7 - Main page - anyway to move the time and RSS feed closer to the bottom?

I just compiled a few minutes ago and it's looking great, but I wanted to mention that in the Regular Wraplist view, not in the big wraplist view, some of my movie thumbs are showing up different sizes. I use my own thumbnails which I have in the movie folder as .tbn files, so they're not the official IMDB ones, but this problem disappears when I go to the Big WrapList view mode, so I'm guessing it can be fixed.
Also, am I the only one not seeing any background animation? I just did a totally clean install of the newest t3ch and clearity, cleaned out userdata, and the Cache folder, X,Y and Z partitions, and even the XBMC U and Tdata folders, and i haven't seen the animation at all, even since i first started using this skin a week or two ago. Doesn't matter much, the skin looks great, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something here. Background animation is turned on in skin options, and I'm not using a custom background image.
I am still getting those white squares in my wide icons in the video section too, but I'm guessing this is a known problem.
OK, first off.. I'm using XBMC SVN build 7680 and Clearity SVN build 287
In the Video section, when you bring up the context menu on a Folder, you can select "Set Content" to tell XBMC what the folder contains.. This should bring up a new Menu, but it doesnt seem to exist in this skin yet. (See the PMIII skin and you'll see what I mean)
In Full screen Video, the HUGE Seekbar that you can't see through, still shows up whenever you hit Menu, or get the Movie info (the title button on my DVD remote)
In the Video section when viewing via Wraplist, the only filed that gets populated onscreen from the extra info labels at the bottom is the Filesize. (I check and they are set properly if viewed from the Video info screen.)
The labels to seem to get filled OK in the Music section though..
I'll report more later if I find anything else

agreed. the seek display is obnoxious; however, i must say that is the only thing i don't like about this skin.
any chance it might be changed to something less obtrusive? i like the way it looks, but the scale is just a bit much. also, having it centered over the video makes it difficult to search through a file for a particular scene, etc.
i can even see leaving it the size it is and just making it less opaque (or more transparent, if you like).

Smokehead hasn't even started working on the fullscreen stuff, so just hold off a bit on that until he's had a chance to play with it. I'd give him at least a week to give him a chance to fine tune the stuff he's working on atm.

i hope i didn't come across as impatient or complainy.
i'm assuming the smokehead has a job of some kind that prevents him from working on this 24/7 -- though you wouldn't know it from how much effort has obviously gone into this skin.
i just wanted to provide some feedback on the one way i think the skin could be improved. when or if that feedback is ever implemented is nobody's business but the skinner's.
just a suggestion, take it for what it is worth...
I think the title of the movie should be lowered a bit in order to see more of the reflection under the movie thumb, this is in big wraplist mode.
also, i think the volume and seek bars should be more in the style of project meyhem III, only blue and in the stly of the skin. the seek is too big and should either be at bottom of screen or top corner to not obsure the movie playing, same goes for volume.
looking great so far, cannot wait till a 1.0 final...

has anyone else problems with python scripts and the scroll bar?
For example: script for xbmcscripts. on the left side there is a bar, but when i switch to the right side (chose a script) there is no scroll bar.
Another example: xbox inbox. The whole screen is completely white (white background and white fonts), so there is nothing to see.
PMIII has no problems here?!
Another point, and this goes for all skins really, is better support for the scripts quickbar. Or some way to customize the list yourself.
I love this skin. The only thing I don't like is the seek bar, like other people have mentioned. Other than that, thanks for making it so cool.
Quick question... PMIII has the ability to add bookmarks on the left column in sections. Is this possible somehow with Clearity? I'm thinking it'd be really cool if bookmarks for a section were listed in the quick drop-down list on the main page. For example, on the My Videos tab, each bookmark would be listed down below Settings, perhaps with a small separator to make them stand out?

just to reiterate.... .
The seek bar in full screen is a little big and the Now Playing overlay shows up in fullscreen for visualizations which pretty much defeats the point of having it full screen. Only other thing i noticed is when scrolling through list with the triggers it shakes a little bit or is this a prob with xbmc?

To anyone that is still annoyed by the big seekbar that you can't see through..
Goto the PAL folder and open up DialogSeekBar.xml and comment out the following section on the top:

This will at least get rid of the black background, so you can see through it now.. I'm sure SmokeHead will fix it properly and make it smaller and more unobtrusive one of these days, but at least i can see whats going on on the screen now :)
Just thought I'd share this with some of the others that really like the skin, but just hate that Seek Dialog :) Btw, my Clearity build in my signature does NOT include this "fix". I want to keep that as it somes from the SVN

Its the best skin I have ever run in xbmc, props to Smokehead for all the hard work, still not able to operate xlink Kai though. patiently awaiting a fix.
I just compiled a few minutes ago and it's looking great, but I wanted to mention that in the Regular Wraplist view, not in the big wraplist view, some of my movie thumbs are showing up different sizes. I use my own thumbnails which I have in the movie folder as .tbn files, so they're not the official IMDB ones, but this problem disappears when I go to the Big WrapList view mode, so I'm guessing it can be fixed.
Also, am I the only one not seeing any background animation? I just did a totally clean install of the newest t3ch and clearity, cleaned out userdata, and the Cache folder, X,Y and Z partitions, and even the XBMC U and Tdata folders, and i haven't seen the animation at all, even since i first started using this skin a week or two ago. Doesn't matter much, the skin looks great, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something here. Background animation is turned on in skin options, and I'm not using a custom background image.
I am still getting those white squares in my wide icons in the video section too, but I'm guessing this is a known problem.

You can enable random wallpapers in a folder in skin options, one of the coolest features in Clearity.

I think I found these wallpaper packages at Blackbolt's MC360 skin forum. They suppose to go with MC360, heh...
Resolution is not high, they're just 720x480. File sizes are roughly about 230k each. But looks great at 720P. I think I used 20 of them, and my free memory is 24 mb out of 64 mb.

I'm using Msan compiled 0123 build Clearity, together with 0116 version XBMC. When playing music, had following overlapping problem.
Also I remember in older build of Clearity, the album info background is transparent, now it's black. Hope it's user customizable. Thanks.

Nevermind...I finally realized that it won't display at the main menu or while watching a visualization.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed my suggestion before, but I think the Now Playing display should replace the standard music info (press WHITE during visualization) as it provides more info about the song and is easier to read.

I like the now playing window alot... It does however get a bit busy/messy on screen... maybe if everything else was removed apart from the background and the clock it would look nicer... just a suggestion... thanks for the work :-)

Hey all.
This is a fantastic skin, i absolutly love it...
although, with the recent build ive been having problems, for some reason my xbox freezes when trying to stop a video...
i have isolated the problem to the skin animations, with them turned off everything works fine (which is a shame because i love the animations..)
System is:

anybody any ideas? would really like to get the animations back...

Also changed the fullscreen media info to look like the "now playing" thing, but still need to fix codec info init though.

Actually I didn't have this problem until updating Clearity today. I've been using T3CH's 7731 since it was released, and when my skin is set to PM3 I can stop videos normally. When I switch to Clearity and stop a video the xbox freezes.

i assume its due to a fault in the animation when stopping a video, if you turn animations off, the skin works pretty much flawlessly, and is awesome...
using any other skin does not have this problem, so it isnt a problem with the latest t3ch build...
again, thanks so much for making this skin, it blows all others out of the water imho.

Another me too with this issue. PMIII works but Clearity freezes when I hit B to stop a video. I updated the skin this afternoon and am running the latest T3CH (1-24-2007). Here is the latest log entry in SVN:

There's another question regarding XBMC.
Is it possible to put all of the userdata in an independant folder outside of XBMC folders, and different versions of XBMC can share? I have 3 versions of XBMC in my Xbox. It's a pain to copy all of those data to keep all versions synchronized.

Actually, you can put userdata in a different location via profiles.xml.
Not 100% sure exactly how movable it is - experiment.

Just got the latest ver of the skin. The new background is a lot better then the old plain one.
With the old version, when I played a movie and went to the menus, the movie was playing in the background, but now all I see is the new animation. Is there a way to get the movie to show?
