I guess you still didnt by your response, so I'll give you a hint.. Look at my signature..

Thanks....I did see that, It is a little vague without a date or version number though, but thanks...:nerd:

Just got the latest ver of the skin. The new background is a lot better then the old plain one.

With the old version, when I played a movie and went to the menus, the movie was playing in the background, but now all I see is the new animation. Is there a way to get the movie to show?

Thanks

You will at least have to enable background videos. If you still only see the background animation then you'll have to disable that. I have the bg animation disabled and bg video enabled and it works the way you want.

Well I disabled bg animation, and it does indeed show the video, but I still want to keep the bg animation when there's no video playing. Is there a solution?

As I do daily or even more builds of the skin, I can't have a more descriptive file, as my signature would need to be updated every time..
Besides, there is a changelog.txt in the rar file, so you know what changed and when it was changed..

I really do not like the bouncing ball animation. There should be a little more thinking to the animation in my opinion. The skin is still great but the animation needs work.

I'm pretty sure it's there just as an example. Check the changelog on January 25 -- Added: Temp Background animation...

I assume that means Smoke will replace it with something better eventually.

I'm using Msan compilted latest build of 0127 and XBMC0124. I also think this version of skin causes XBMC to freeze everytime when I stop playing a video. Changing back to 0125 version and PMIII skin, the problem is gone.

When the problem happens, the background animation is disabled.

Also a suggestion for the background wallpapers: How about adding a few effects to change the wallpapers automatically? Like those in a slideshow. I think that could be cooler than a background animation.

I think ths is simply one of the best skins for XBMC. Thanks to Smokehead for your hard work making Xbox more enjoyable.

I only noticed this too, but only if I have any of the animations enabled.. by default I now have skin and background animations disabled, and it seems to be fine

Updated today, does seem to have fixed the video problem. Thing is I dont think I had it until I switched from Clearity to another skin then back... Guess I wont be switching again!!

Only reason I switched was because I was trying out some of the scripts and they don't seem to display properly using Clearity. Is that more to do with the scripts than the skin????

Noticed that behaviour too. But no response or fix for that until now (earlier thread here). Hoped that smokehead could say something about it. :-(

Great job on this skin, i love it.

One question. Is it possible to have the "Now Playing" overlay show up after 30 seconds when you are on the Home screen? It seems that it only comes up if you are in My Music or one of the other sub menus?

Thanks and keep up the great work.

No, I don't think this build on Jan. 31 has fixed this stopping-video-freeze problem. I tried it and XBMC still freezes every time when I stop playing a video, no matter it's on 0116 XBMC or 0124 XBMC. My desktop is always 720P and video playing at 1080i. Jan. 25 Clearity build performs just fine though.

Also, I feel XBMC freezes more often when playing a video (not just stopping a video) using recent builds of Clearity. I found out Clearity builds later than 0123 use 5 or 6 MB more memeroy, the free memory is only 17 - 19 MB on 720P mode, using same set of wallpapers, while it was 23 -24 MB free before. Is it possible that this is a reason to cause more freezes?

Just took at the changlog. I don't really see anything that could correct the freezing problem. I couldn't really actually find anything in the code which could explain the freezing problem either. I'm updating my SVN right now and I'll see what happens.

Yah this new release didn't fix the issue, it still freezes during the stopping of videos. I myself believed that it's an issue of the skin taking up too much memory was he problem.

BTW does anyone have the older revision right before the freezing problem, that they could upload for me. I had that one working perfectly but deleted it by accident when I updated. Now all I have is the revision before that one and it has a few bugs in it which were fixed.

Hmmm... Anyone else have any ideas about what could be causing the freezes that doesn't include memory usage. I'm thinking it's not the memory because in the older revisions when the skin animations were enabled everything worked fine. Now, in this revision it freezes unless everythings turned off, including the skin animations. Also, when everythings off, If I hit X the movie can still play in the background which uses a lot of system resources and memory, without crashing.

Still sounds like a memory issue to me.. Once you turn off everything (thats my default) everything runs ok.. I'll play with it under debug mode and see what I can find once I get home..

Chi3f from Xbox-Scene mentioned maybe there was a problem in the VideoFullScreen.xml file... I havn't really looked at that yet so I'm not gonna say anything about it as of now.

For now everyone that's been having this problem I'm gonna re-up the revision from the 24th that I just found on my computer, which was before the freezing problem. You can just use that in the meantime until a fixed release is out. I also changed the code so that you can see through the seekbar and I added a few backgrounds under: CLEARITY/MEDIA/BG. Also, I just made up a quick animation real quick so if you go to: SKIN OPTIONS/OTHER OPTIONS/ ENABLE BG ANIMATION you should be able to see just a quick clip I made of a car driving by in the background [it's a little choppy didn't mean for it to be perfect so no flaming].

Well, I just did some experiments... I have to have XBMC in 1080i because my TV can't handle 720p..

Average free Memory with Clearity: 13MB (all animations turned off)
Average free Memory with PMIII: 18MB (animation off)

I actually have to switch back to PMIII for now, because some of my Videos will not play since there is not enough free memory left :(

I still don't understand why it would use 5MB more then PMIII

But I only found out the 0127 & 0131 builds of Clearity causes 0116 & 0124 XMBC to freeze, earlier builds before 0125 and PM III are just fine on the same versions of XBMC.

I'm using XBMC 0116, don't see much feature difference than 0124. 0124 responds very slowly on the shutdown menu, the "dashboard", "restart" and "restart XBMC" buttons take more than 10 seconds to respond!

Those have all been fixed and due to UPNP. Get a new SVN build.

And as Smokehead has mentioned, the hang on video stop with animations enabled has been fixed in SVN.

Both these issues are XBMC SVN.

Ok first time I tried the skin and here's some feedback:
I basically use the My Video's a LOT and there are some things I still see done the 'old way'.
For instance why is the View: still on the upper left side?? You set that once to your taste and thats it! Just put it at the end.
In the library mode:
Why in hell is is the Unwatched/Watched/All movies at the end? At first I couldn't even find it.
Please put Sort by in front, after that Unwatched, View at the far end.
Please rename My videos to My video files or something, it's confusing now that its for leaving the library mode.
In the movie information screen: Cast doesn't do anything, they do appear in PM3.
Search: you can enter something and it finds it, but pressing ok doesnt bring up that movie.

Weather: The text for Sunday is too long, it isnt aligned properly within the dark background and goed over the line and onto the blue background color.

Well thats enough bitching for now :)
Overall I really like it.

I'm trying the 070201 builds of Clearity & XBMC, the previous bugs are gone. Great work!

But I found there's another one, it's actually there since earlier builds. The "Add Source" function doesn't work because I simply cannot highlight the "OK" button. And I cannot take a screenshot at that very menu. So I have to use a camera.

I'm curious. What can 5 MB more memory help? I assume playing video files use the most memory? But isn't Xbox more strained on CPU than memory on this? Or with 5 MB more, I can use 1080i desktop with smooth skin animation and still play video at the same resolution?

The changelog is a very considerate thought. Thanks.

Clearity 2007-02-01 download here: http://rapidshare.com/files/14442667/Clearity2007-02-01.rar.html

Tired of relying on these good souls to make you the most recent build?
Just follow these steps...

1) If you haven't already, download and install TortoiseSVN
2) Using explorer make a folder somewhere on your harddrive - name it CLARITYSVN
3) RIGHT click the newly created folder and LEFT click SVN checkout
4) Load the following link into a web browser:
https://xboxmediacenter.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xboxmediacenter/Clearity/
5) From your browser copy the URL and then paste it into the checkout window of TortoiseSVN on the line that says "URL of repository", hit OK
6) After it is done, explore the CLARITYSVN folder, you will see a file called build.bat, double click this file.
7) There will be a newly created folder called BUILD, inside this folder is a folder name CLARITY, upload this folder to your xbox.

I hope those who have been struggling with the whole TortoiseSVN thing will find this tutorial useful.

Well, I'd rather have more then 5, but I'll take as much as I can.. On some Video files, I run out of memory when trying to open them.. on those, 1 or 2MB of memory can make the difference of beeing able to play them.

These instructions aren't of much use to those of us using Mac OS X and other OS's. And I'm using a 20-inch G5 iMac so no, I can't just reboot into Windows. I'm afraid for the time being I still have to rely on these good souls (and thank God for them).

It's really surprising how few Xbox PC tools support other OS's considering how well XBMC itself does. Thank god for Transmit on the Mac for putting things on the Xbox and SharePoints for setting up SMB shares or I'd be crazy by now.

Keep up the good work Msan.

I'm using 720P desktop. I can barely play some Xvid encoded 720Re HDRip files (usually a 4.3 GB file) and don't upscale to 1080i. For other Xvid files below 720Re (540Re 700 MB TV episodes or 1.4 GB movies), enough memory for XBMC to upscale to 1080i. And even some H.264 encoded 480P Apple HD movie trailers play ok. Strange thing is I found no x.264 files even at 480Re play smoothly. They suppose to use lessn CPU than H.264 Apple trailers.

I'm interested in your experiences. Thanks.

Some folks run a Virtual environment:

Windows

Mac

Keep in mind that MS Virtual environment do not offer full Direct 3D support; that said, if your compiling skins from the SVN ... it shouldn't be a problem.

I fount out Clearity uses the most memory among all the skins I use. Blackbolt's Classic & MC360, plus PM III, all use 5 - 6 MB less memory.

Clearity IS the smallest on file size though.

seems that there are some problems with the key mapping while trying to use the xbmc xlink kai interface, as well as the occasional problem of xbmc freezing on load if autostart is enabled along with the kai interface (and xbmc detects and "takes over" kai). once again, thanks a bunch, and if there is any other way i can help, just lemme know =)

Since my TV only supports 480p and 1080i, I have the everything running in 1080i. I tried the desktop in 480p, but everything is just too big for my taste.

Some of the movies I have are in rar's and some are not, but I did have problems paying some of them in PMIII before.. Thats why I switched to Clearity, since it was supposed to use the least amount of memory.. I guess over time the skin started to use way more then the other skins, and now when I try to play some of my videos, XBMC just runs out of memory.. I go back to PMIII and the same file will usually play just fine...

If someone could tell me what is using up the memory in a skin and what I could do to reduce the amount of memory, (just from the skin, I already have cache sizes turned down etc.) I would appreciate it very much..

Hi,
I saw you added another font for variety.
Would it be possible to add a font that supports more languages? Like Arial ttf?
Out of the 4 now available fonts, none displays Hebrew for me, which is a pity.

Thanks

M.D.
2007-02-05, 19:20
I think you can use your own font which can display Hebrew to replace prototype.ttf. That's what I've been doing to display Chinese.

Smokehead, is it possible you could re-design the Media Info window when playing a video? It's too big for my taste. Sometimes I just bring up that window to see how much time left for a video, but it blocks the most important middle part of a video. I like the old Media Info at the bottom of the screen.

I know you're match this info window with the Now Playing Window for music files. But that window just blocks the visualization, no big deal.

Thank you for your hard work on this skin. It's getting close to perfection every build.

I was using Clearity today and saw that the font named test is still an option under the list of fonts even though it was renamed to comic. So it needs to be removed in the font.xml. Also just wanted to say how awesome this skin really is.

Thanks LRa. Pressing Menu botton only brings up the control panel, but doesn't display time only when I press Pause. If I'm mistaken, let me know.

Anyway, it's not only about displaying time when I want to bring up the Media Info window. I think any OSD shouldn't block the video too much.

I suggest adding at least 70% of transparency on all video OSD's background. A total transparent OSD background with customized font colors matching subtitle colors (I think there are at least 4 colors to choose from XBMC) will be even better. But I guess that's maybe an XBMC issue rather than Clearity's.

Smokehead, thanks for the great work.

M.D. you're right, only pause bring it up. Anyhow you can edit the keymap file to a command to display the bar and hide it. That's what I've done. When playing full screen video, the info button acts as subtitles on/off.

It seems as if memory usage has improved with the most recent build (revision 402). i've got 19mb free running clearity now.

Been trying a few backgrounds (this one from DeviantArt)
and it seem that as long as something is happening in the bottom left the home screen seems a little more complete. I also changed the Background2.png as I am not too keen on the TRON style ciruitry, it just doesn't seem to sit right with the clean/minimalist look that the rest of the skin has. Just a few ideas really...

http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/469/homerl6.jpg

Also added artists name to wraplist as it really is useful when scanning through a big library. I know its already there on one of the wraplists but I like the smaller one best. Alot of people like the idea of having the artist name above the picture (as did I, so thats how I first tried it), but it's just not a natural way to read something... I thought it was uncomfortable having to constantly look up and down whilst quick scanning through the wraplist... Again just and idea.. there is still room for the media information...

http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/8308/musiclibraryyr0.jpg

Finally I dropped the Artist prefix from the now playing window to make a little more room for the name... I found that in PAL 4:3 a few longer names were chopped...

Thanks again smokehead for this great skin..... :-)

2007-02-06, 20:09
@brono28... this has been discussed earlier in the thread p23 I think. However FYI I added the following (as mentioned by joe4444) to Includes.xml under

<!-- WrapList Info Labels ===:

<control type="label">
<posx>60</posx>
<posy>420</posy>
<width>600</width>
<height>16</height>
<font>special14</font>
<textcolor>FFffffff</textcolor>
<align>center</align>
<scroll>true</scroll>
<label>$INFO[listitem.artist]</label>
<include>selectedcolor</include>
<include>common-fade-quick</include>
<visible>Control.IsVisible(56)</visible>
</control>

@Rand Al Thor.... you know you can have any background you like right? just stick a picture/background in a folder somewhere on the xbox and select it through the skin options...

you can get the .png here for anyone interested...

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9400/background2bt9.png

right click save as then rename to Background2.png and overwrite the one in the SVN folder before you do a build...

look folks this is all getting way off-topic.... it's not a how to guide on getting the latest xbmc or compiling the skin.... yes to use this skin you need the latest tech build of xbmc which is available in all the usual places... there are plenty of pointers on how to to change xmls and pngs to suit your taste within this thread already. Just have a read through the thread. If people have suggestions or bug reports about the skin I'm sure smokehead would appreciate it... just my 2 cents :-)

This skin is sooo nice =) I love the album view! Makes me wanna get thumb nails for every album I have.

I'd like to give a few suggestion, someone already said diff background for diff tabs like music and videos, Which will help determine which tab your on as I sit far away from tv can't read all the writing. Also when you go from tab to tab is it possable to enlarge the tab writing your on at the top maybe even just make that one go bold. One last idea which might not be possable or very very hard, is in the album view. You normal have like 3 thumbnails on the screen at once the center being the one your about to select would look neat if you could have the albums on either side at a slight angle.

These r only ideas its brilliant skin either way.

i solved my problem with the background going black after trying to apply new wallpaper.

this seems to be undocumented, so i'll briefly describe what the deal was.
i was applying a 1600x1400 jpeg as the background; clearity does not like this. my solution was to scale it down to the original background size of 720 by xxx. the second dimension doesn't seem to matter much, just scale the width down to 720.

Hi guys.

Just downloaded Clearity and been playing with it ALL day.. Wife impressed with graphics etc, but not with me playing with the TV all day!!!It is great! Love the wrap style view.

I noticed that the DL.tv script did not work with it? Could not see and cursor? or move it around the screen? The script works ok in PMIII?? So not sure what that is all about?

Otherwise it is great..

I have been changing around my movie collection to get it to display correctly in the Library view.. Having a few problems with TV shows.. My setup is F:Movies/Movie name/data

I have also created a directory called TV Shows (F:Movies/TV Shows/Weeds Season 2/data

Problem is that each episode of weeds shows up in the library view? All have the same cover so it looks like 3 shows of the same thing?? I see some people using wide icons for movies which look good.. But not sure how to get it setup so only the Name Weeds or something similiar shows up and not every episode name in the main library view..

I would apperciate anyone letting me know how they got around this one..

Thanks from Downunder (ie Australia)..

Cheers

I know this happens when the song changes but the song wasn't changed yet and it keep popping up right thru the song.

Hi Smokehead, firstly Id like to say that your skin is looking very good.

Im not sure if someone would have requested this or not..

When the xbox receives a notification like xbox detected etc is it possible to have a smaller dialog perhaps keeping the same format but as it currently works which looks good. But focusing towards the bottom area of the screen so it does not use as much space when notifications appear when playing videos..Hope this makes sense..

Hi, Smokehead.

I found it's a little hard for non-English users try to translate the skin language. Language needs to be translated in Clearity are scattered in a few xml files, not usually in the translate.xml in Pal folder like other skins.

Is it possible to do some changes on this to make translating easier? Thanks.

Since T3CHs XBMC from 16-02-07 it no longer works to add custom backgrounds. The whole XBMC freezes. If it ain't just for me, it probably is a issue with XBMC rather than Clearity, but it's worth mentioning.

Hi guys,

First of all... I LOVE this skin! It has renewed my interest completely in XBMC and skin tweaking and all of that! So big thanks go to Smokehead!

I have made a couple of minor mods to the skin so far, mainly involving the top menu bar font sizes as they looked a bit small on my TV.

What I also wanted to do though was to make the Videos tab on the Home Screen menu bar the default selected menu on startup. (Not start up into the Video sub-menu, just start up on the Home Screen, but with the Video tab as the selected tab, if you see what I mean!).

I've had a go at doing this, by changing the id numbers within the "buttonscroller control" within home.xml. But this then screws up the extra Navigation sub-menu buttons if you have them selected (the options shown don't match the tab selected). So I then had a go at changing the group id numbers within HomeSubNavigation.xml. And this seems to mess it up more!

This was originally motivated by laziness and curiosity, but now it's bugging me that I can't do it!

Any ideas on how this could be done?

Thanks

ps. Sorry if this is already discussed in the forum, I have tried searching the forum and read thru some of this thread, but at 38 pages, I haven't got thru it all yet!

Where does it go to now? Music right? you just need to open up Home.xml and go to line 73 to change this line:

Where does it go to now? Music right? you just need to open up Home.xml and go to line 73 to change this line:

<defaultbutton>4</defaultbutton>
to
<defaultbutton>5</defaultbutton>

assuming you still have the original files. that should make it land on videos any time you start up your xbox.

Thanks for the quick reply manturafs. That did work in a way, in that the default tab on startup is Videos, however, the startup tab is now not the one in the centre of the screen. It's one tab to the right (at least this is the case on the XBMC PC engine I'm testing on). Ideally I'd like the default startup tab to be Videos, and it to be in the centre as it originally was.

I'll test this a bit later on the xbox downstairs and confirm whether it's the same behaviour.

Thanks again

I guess you might be using a big pic, for my any pic works but after I resize it to width 645px, hight 522px.

Once again, NO, it's not the picture. It worked before with the SAME pictures. :)
And it doesn't matter even if I try with a 64x64 picture with 10kb.

oh, well you can switch the order of the buttons i think in the scroller without changing the id number. i believe the order is determined by the order in the code, not the id number, BUT i could be wrong. just move the entire section for the button to the position that the skin usually lands on.

Thanks guys, I'll try those suggestions tonight.

Order is setermined by quardinates... look for Ypos ;)

HarshReality - I presume you mean posy? ;)

Within Home.xml there is the following code:

<control type="buttonscroller" id="300">
<posx>-345</posx>
<posy>55</posy>

Which I presume locates the menu bar on the screen. Are you suggesting that changing the posx / posy will change the order in which the menu tabs are displayed, rather than the position of the whole menu?

Cheers

marv
2007-02-28, 22:34
Right, I got it working!

Thanks to both manturafs and HarshReality I now have the default active tab on XBMC startup as Videos.

I did it by changing <defaultbutton> within Home.xml to the same value as the button id of My Videos (by default 5). And the active menu tab is now back in the centre of the screen, by changing the menu locator <posx> left by the width of a button (200), so from -345 to -545.

Thanks a lot guys!

Hi, marv. I have the same need as you on the My Videos location.

I'm not good at editing xml files. I thought I figured out after reading your post. I did the changes on 2 values under <control type="buttonscroller" id="300"> in the home.xml files in Pal & Pal16x9 folders.

1. Change <posx>-345</posx> to <posx>-545</posx>;
2. Change <defaultbutton>4</defaultbutton> to <defaultbutton>5</defaultbutton>

But nothing changed on the home screen after I restart XBMC!

Please let me know what I did wrong. Thanks.

Has the work halted on the skin? No more SVN updates...?

jzbruno
2007-03-03, 19:47
Here are a few things that I found out about the buttonscroller when I started my skin.

<defaultbutton>3</defaultbutton>

The defaultbutton tag actually tells the buttonscroller which physical spot is default. So if you have 7 buttons and set it to 3 it will keep the focus of the buttonscroller on the 3rd slot regardless of where it is positioned. It has nothing to do with which button is actually in that slot when the skin is loaded. In Clearity for example the first button slot and half of the second are off screen because posx is set to -345.

<buttons>
<default>5</default>
<button id="1">
...
</buttons>

In Clearity the part that actually controls which button is default is missing. The button section is missing the red code with the appropriate id number. I didn't find this so easy to change in Clearity because there seems to be a conflict between the id number and the label number. In mine I didn't use numbers for labels or the icon numbers so this may be it.

Well just started messing around with my skin and turns out that the <default> button has no effect. I guess I just got lucky that my items lined up correctly. Sorry.

I noticed that smokehead hadn't posted here or on xbox-scene for a good while and posted a thread to that effect over at xbox-scene. I expect when time allows he will begin updating the skin again so I wouldn't worry too much.

Ummmm... I'm certainly no expert either, so I'm not sure what the issue could be to be honest. I'm pretty sure they're the only changes I made - apart from also reordering the code also to make the first button in the code the videos button (id=5):

<buttons>
<button id="5">
<description>My Videos</description>
<label>3</label>
<onclick>XBMC.ActivateWindow(MyVideos)</onclick>
<icon>105</icon>
</button>
.
.
.
etc

but I didn't think this was what had made the difference so I didn't note it.

I don't think this should make a difference, because I don't think the build.bat process changes the xml files at all, but maybe try editing the code in the svn folder, then re-run the build.bat to rebuild the skin, rather than editing the already built files...

I'll try to PM you the content of my home.xml files.

But the "Add Source" function still doesn't work 'cause the "OK" button couldn't be focused there, despite in the changelog:

Thanks for your detailed email, marv. I have no idea re-ordering buttons on home screen is so easy before you show me how. Also it solved your needs too.

I hope you don't mind I share your code. I think maybe they're helpful for other people as well.

Actually no changes on values or anything are made, except to re-order them in the home.xml.

Following code will put home buttons in this order: My Videos, My Music, My Files, My Pictures, My Programs, Weather, Settings & Skin Options.

<buttons>

<button id="5">
<description>My Videos</description>
<label>3</label>

Well, credit for this really has to go to manturafs. He first suggested it to me here: http://xbmc.org/forum/showpost.php?p=126802&postcount=381, which I tried but couldn't get to work (I must have done something wrong) so tried other methods. Then I realised that it had worked all along, so sorry for any confusion, but at least we all know how to switch button positions now!

Smoke,
I've been watching this project grow and it has really turned into something great.

I'm considering switching from PM3 (mod'd moderately) but have a few things I'd like to see first, if you will indulge...

Utilize empty Home screen space better
- have slideshow in center of screen under the buttons (just empty now if additional options not shown).
- display weather and time/date. Here's a shot of how I did it with PM3 and kept the spacial integrity...

Wow!!.....I love how the the skin looks in the 'Music' , 'Video' and 'Pictures' screens!! It so nice...perfect actually.

Just not a big fan of the home screen. It looks.....empty i guess. The Music, Videos, Pictures tabs are soo small - it doesnt do the skin justice at all in my opinion.
I think the home screen would look much better with some icon that you flip through. Like an Icon Wrap (across the middle of the screen) and underneath the central icon could be where the options for each are. For example, under the music icon would be Playlist, Library, Party Mode, etc....Like it is now.

Either way, GREAT WORK!!!! Just my two cents....
Thanks!!

I`ve been using this skin for a while, and i love it, but recently i encountered a problem.

I have now installed build rev9424 of T3CH, and i tried to upgrade last night to rev9662, everything works ok, but the volume bar progress image is not overlapping correctly with the volume bar container image, i noticed that it's not the xml, but when i actually change the XBMC default.xbe to the rev9424 build, it works correctly again.

Did something change in XBMC on how it handles layers in skins or something?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Many thanks.

I tried going to the folder where the scripts are and choosing "add to favourites" from the context menu, but when you click on them on the favourites menu on the home screen all it does it display the file manager pointed to the folder of the script, but not actually running the script.

From other skins it works on the script menu, but clearity seems to be using favourites...

(I don't know if Jezz_X will put this in the svn or not)... This edit makes the background black by default (looks really good w/ background videos); improves readability of the home menu buttons, rss feed, and time display; improves the wide icon container image; and last but not least fixes the positioning of the volume bar. All improvements are working in all resolutions except the volume bar is slightly off in standard defintion widescreen resolutions, (NTSC 16x9, PAL 16x9, 480p 16x9). That will be fixed in a future update. To install, simply extract the files, copy the files in the clearity folder, and paste into the root of your clearity svn folder overwriting any files with the same name. Build the skin using the build.bat and FTP the Clearity folder located in the BUILD folder to your xbox and as always... enjoy!!

Ok I added it all to the SVN except the Background changes Thats what I class a Major changes that don't technically fix anything or update it even more so when you can allready assign custom backgrounds in the skin settings

I also added a fix myself

If I gave u a version of Background2.png that is the same but adds the semitransparent black bars on the top and bottom by the buttons and the feed would you use it? The main reason I added the black bars was just so things were more readable... especially with a bright music video in the background. Let me know...

This new edit fixes the volume bar in all resolutions instead of most, adds a tickmark to the analog seeker, and moves the seek slider bar down for a better fit. It also cleans up some code hierarchy in the PAL 16x9 Home.xml file (doesn't change anything but improves the readability of the code for skinners). (Please add this to the svn Jezz_X :)

Planned revisions:
fix volume control - done
add tickmark to seek bar/improve positioning - done
add/improve viewmodes - plan on cutting out most of the endless wrap in the viewmodes (or am I the only one annoyed by that?)
fix xlink kai menu - (Jezz_X help please lol)
add some black opacity behind clear buttons (improve readability) - canceled
small notifications instead of IN YOUR FACE YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL FOR 5 SECONDS MADNESS - planned
create home button hierarchy instead of LONG scrolling list for better usability - planned

I'm using the latest t3ch build and when I try and select your skin, it says "incompatible skin we require skins of version 2.00 or higher"

What am I doing wrong?

Hey... I haven't read this entire thread so forgive me if this has been covered:

When playing a video (physical dvd or iso or divx, etc.) and I bring up the audio menu, nothing is there. The only thing I can do is hit back to go back to the player menu "cross" icon thingy. When I select the Audio menu though, it brings up a blank screen (video still playing behind it). Same is true for the video settings during playback.

I have one video file that I need to re-encode from the DVD, cause the audio is off, but with any other skin, I can bring up the audio settings screen during playback and adjust the audio delay. In Clarity (my favorite looking skin) it's just blank.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

Thanks!

Of course, I meant "Clearity" not "Clarity". :)

Bump...

Can anyone at least let me know if they do NOT see this problem?

I'm trying to figure out if it's something I'm doing wrong, or maybe just the build I'm using, or that I use the remote not the controller...

Thanks...

Thanks good to at least know that it's the code and not some n00b mistake by me.

I don't know if anyone is still working on this one. If not too bad, IMO. I like it a lot.

Update: I noticed last night while playing a DVD .iso streamed from my PC, using the Clearity skin, that the volume adjustment had no effect on the movie. When I switched to PM3 skin, it worked fine.

Sure wish someone was working on this skin... I really like the look/feel of it. I don't have the skills to develop it though.
