If you write to HD, Led is red; if you read from HD, Led is yellow; if you do nothing, Led is green. No more :)

There was a little problem, this is because the message was twice. There is a little parragraph missing:

"Obviusly, this is an optional feature and can be disabled for example when you are vieving a film, but it could be usefull when you are copying data to XBox to know when it has finished or if there where problems or to know if a stream phyton script get zombie or if it's secure to switch off or... "

I thought it could be a usefull feature... If you can change the led colors and make it blink, why not give it a usefull function?

AFAIK

The LED can onl y change slowly - the same speed as the blink. This makes using it as a HDD light a bit rubbish. Plus the softeare overhead necesary to do it is a questionable use of resources.

It is really easy to add an LED yourself if you look at the tutorials on XS.

Oh, i didn't know it... :( But at least maybe change the led color would be usefull for some functions, as caching streaming data or looking film thumbnails... something that looking at the led color you can know the XBox is not "zombi" (it happens to me a lot of times, more if i'm using phyton scripts...)

P.D.: Software overhead??!!! WTF?!

I have to add an RCA audio set connectors to my XBox before, but don't worry: I'll look for it ;)
