Hi.
There have been several times i've wanted to play a video as a visualizer (with ?optional? the sound zeroed for the video) whilst playing music..
The perfect example of this is to get an electric sheep render as a visulisation.. Performing pre-calculated mathematics in which each frame takes hundreds of minutes to generate.
or for a less achedemic and slightly more common usage.. porn with a music backing..
