Help please, newbie on

I have a softmodded xbox from a friend. I tried to load the new "XBMC 2.0.1 Final Pointrelease (13th of November 2006)". My old XBMC was the pimp version. I don't know to much about the different versions but I did a flesh install and after I rebooted the xbox the old build booted up.

I transferred the xbmc folder to F:apps and I didn't transferred the other two folders (_extras & _tools).

Can someone help me? or can you a step by step method to install the the new build. I followed the installation instruction from the xbmc web site.

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Is XBMC your default Dash? Do you possibly have multiple versions installed but your XBE is pointing to the old one?

Do you have a version installed on e:\apps\xbmc as well? That is the default.

Colinsm, Thanks for your reply, my default Dash is Ava. I am new on xbox modification. I got the xbox from a friend and he didn't give me any instructions on how to operate it.

I will ftp to my file manager to see if there is another copy of XBMC running. How can I change the XBE to point to the new XBMC? Any sugestions
