Minimum zoom for slideshows?

Would it be possible to add a way to force pictures to zoom to the width of the screen or bigger (when zoom and pan is turned on), so that when slideshows are running, there aren't black bars on the edges when viewing on a 16:9 screen? Kind of like how iPhoto does slideshows on widescreen monitors.

You can fiddle with advancedsettings.xml

See the online manual. The number you want to change is the blackbarcompensation.
