View Full Version : Can't get 2.0 to work

I've tryed several different releases of 2.0 as a fesh install by just FTPing the folder after backing up the old one. None of them want to work. One did get me into the menue sort of, but it wasn't functional. Do I need to update my mod chip or something. Honestly I don't understand why its not working. Please help.

Craaaaaap! earlier I screwed up my backup and ftped a 2.0 over it, but it worked after wards. Now that won't work either. There has to be something I'm missing here. I've tried like 10 different releases, 2.0, 1.1, Ieven got one form June, and it still didn't work. Please, Please help!

Someone actually replied. Make so happy. I think the problem before is that I was not altering the XML files. the skins one has the default res as PAL, and I'm in the US so the standard is NTSC. Could this be my problem?
grab an auto installer like Slayer's or aideluxe. See if you can get one of those working and then go from there.

The one I downloaded is Auto-Installer Deluxe v3.0
I look for the ones you mentioned.
that is aideluxe. I believe the l;ates is v3.10

O.K. I got it burning to a CD, but I thought that Xboxes didn't like CD-Rs

I too have a problem with 2.0 version of XBMC.
I overwritten my previus version and now i can't get it started.
It just stays there where XBMC logo is... and I can't ftp to it!
What should I do?
I think my chip is an Alladin but I'm not sure. XboX version 1.6

well I managed to start it somehow but now its giving me an error:
XBMC Fatal Error
t:\guisettings.xml Line 0
Anyone know how to fix it?

The auto installer did the trick. I'm not running 2.0, but at least I'm up and running agian. To be honest my xbox is better than ever now. Had now idea that you could do all that with an auto installer. So easy too. If anyone else screws up their xbox like I did I sujest you get an auto installer.

I installed XBMC as the main dasboard and as an app with the auto installer. I updated the app file with 2.0 and then launched with XBMC, and it ran fine, but I didn't see any difference form the other. Maybe it didn't launch the updated file. I'don't know I'll play around with it some more.

Sweet 2.0 works as an app. No problems. Better than ever!
