can't get my Xbox running in the US!

....this summer I came to the US from Germany and brought my Xbox (with mod chip and HD bought in Germany).I did get the transformer in order to get it running but now I am stuck with a problem that I just can't figure out. When I start my Xbox there is no colour(b/w) and the picture is flickering. As soon as I start a game the flickering stops but there is still no colour. My TV does not have a scart input, only a AV input. I have tried a RF Adapter (operates on VHF channel) but it doesn't change anything.
In Germany I have only used the scart adapter that came with my Xbox (never had any problems), only once I tried the AV cabel on a TV and I had the same problem!
Does that mean I need a TV with a scart (have never seen one here in the US)?
What's wrong??????

you most likely need to convert xbox into NTSC mode (Europe uses PAL).

there's tools available for this purpose. One is called Enigmah Video Select "video_select_v2_enigmah-x.rar". Xbox needs to be modded for this tool to work.

I can download the file to my PC but how do I manage the transfer to my Xbox? The problem is the flickering of the picture so I can't really see what I am doing.

You can FTP the files to the Xbox with FlashXP.
