problem has resolved itself as of this morning maybe lastfm was doing some updates or something to their servers, my connection was intact last night when error was occurring.
New error
11:33:56 M: 33792000 ERROR: AudioScrobbler: Submission failed: bad authorization.
11:33:57 M: 33746944 NOTICE: AudioScrobbler: Handshake successful.
11:38:59 M: 33361920 ERROR: AudioScrobbler: Submission failed: bad authorization.
11:38:59 M: 33361920 NOTICE: AudioScrobbler: Handshake successful.
So know I have re-entered login:pass to see if that resolves issue although I know that it is correct.

Same issue here since I installed XBMC-CVS_2006-09-18-T3CH. No songs are submitted to Last.FM. I also re-entered the password to make sure, but no success. I'll try and get a full log.
Here is the log.
I guess that if the songs where submitted there should be traces of the "submit" operation? Are there?

Either the last.fm server is just being difficult or you're running another player that connects to last.fm with you're credentials at the same time.
Here is the log.
You played two songs for 21/25 seconds. You have to play at least half the song before the info is submitted. If you ffwd/rew or if the track duration is < 30 seconds or if the track isn't tagged it will not be submitted.

Thanks for the info, did not know that. Turns out that Last.FM (at least for me) has been out of order for a week. As for submitting.
However I do not quite understand the submitting frequency, because my most recent log says:
22:06:33 M: 36843520 DEBUG: AudioScrobbler: Submit interval set to 1 seconds.
What is then submitted every second? There is nothing in the trace indicating that something is submitted this frequently?
What is then submitted every second? There is nothing in the trace indicating that something is submitted this frequently? It means we have to wait at least 1 second before submitting the next command, if the load on their submission server is very high they can use this to decrease the load. If the servers can handle it fine it will just send us 1 second.
Thanks.
Everything is wokring fine now. I have however seen that a lot of people do have problems with the Last.FM servers. Too bad since the service is really nice. Well, not much to do about it in this forum....
