Hi all. I've checked around, found tons of posts that touch somewhat on my question but don't seem to be the same as my problem.

I've been using "WORKGROUP (SMB) Network" to stream video from my PC to my Xbox. Up until yesterday I chose "Workgroup (SMB) Network". This brought up "HOME" (which is the name of my Windows XP workgroup). I choose "HOME" and it brings up all the shared files on my PC.

As of today, I when I choose "WORKGROUP (SMB) Network" it brings up "HOME" (which I assume should be a sign that the connection is being made, right?). But after I choose "HOME", I get an error message saying "Error – 1073741772: share not available".

One thing maybe I should mention, I never set up the WORKGROUP (SMB) Network. I guess Xbox must have auto-discovered it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not super techie, so please be as detailed as possible in your advice/wisdom.

No, it was not autodetected. There is a default share for the default windows workgroup named "WORKGROUP". SMB browsing by workgroup requires a master browser system.

Not exactly. When you choose the "WORKGROUP" share, Xbmc sends out a broadcast asking for computers in the workgroup named WORKGROUP. In a windows network, one machine is elected to the be the "master browser". It answers this query and tells Xbmc who the members of WORKGROUP are. Now, I think youre getting that error due to something on HOME. For instance, might yuo recently updated XP which may have enabled the firewall?
