Music and digital output

this is not exactly a problem, but does anyone else have an issue with xbmc where it cuts the digital output stream between two music files resulting in the receiver trying to autodetect the digital stream again?

my receiver obviously switches some kind of relay (i can hear a click) between every song. it's probably my receivers fault that it drops half a second of music from a beginning of a song because of this.

oh, btw, my dvd player doesn't do this when playing mp3 files. it keeps a steady output.

i've got a couple of ideas on how to fix this, and will try and fix it when i have a chance.

i believe it's due to the way mplayer is opening the files with 6 channel output first time through. this causes the xbox to go into dd mode, then mplayer is restarted (as we now know how many channels to use) and the xbox is reset to pcm form.

please check if it does the same thing if output to all speakers is enabled. (should be dd all the time then)
