i was trying to install XBMC and while doing the install linux with the mechassualt save game, i got several error messages. and it left me at the evolution X dashboard (the blue screen), i think. well i turned it off then turned it back on now all it does it says i need to call customer support. please help!

i put the game in and loaded the install linux savegame
when trying to install the evolution x dashboard i get an error
batch process failed.
your last item was: .

i backed up my eeprom and my dashboard version is high enough.
that screen should have an error code in the corner. a description of what most of the error codes mean is at xbox-scene.com

it has a 13 in the upper left corner
havent found the reason for the code on xbox-scene yet
hope my xbox isnt screwed :(

13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.
it said something about a slayer 2.6 cd? will that fix my xbox.
please help.
if it doesnt work, you can always run the gamesave hack again, and just run the uninstall actions (if you backed up, like the installer said you should). then at least your xbox works

so the slayer 2.6 cd may work
when i run the savegame hack there is no uninstall action.

when i get the slayer program, do i burn to cd or ftp it?
you burn it. it needs to run off a cd.

im a total noob about modding an xbox. the only reason i came here is becasue i was trying to install XBMC, i apologize.
what did you do to fix this? I am getting the same error message when trying to install the softmod

Nevermind....I fixed this by updating my dashboard to the current version.
You can do this by inserting a XBOX Live Game and tell it to connect to Live, it will then check your dashboard versiona nd update if necessary.
Mine is good to go now.

thats why a hard mod (modchip) is so easy in comparison . . .
