I downloaded XBMC 2006-07-09 and tried to copy the XBMC directory over the existing one (from March). Seemed to go OK but on reboot I got an error about the Q drive and <home> and so on.

So I am working on resolving that, playing around with XboxMediaCenter.xml

Question is - where does that need to live, should it be on the root of C as well as in the XBMC directory or just in one or the other.

My ther problem is that I am trying to copy over the XboxMediaCenter.xml file from my PC to the XBOX but it copies over via FTP as a 0 length file. I can see a "Permission Denied" error in my FTP client.

Similarly if I boot the XBOX with my AID 3.3 disk and then run XBMC from there (as I can't boot my XBOX on its own yet as the xml is still hosed) when I go to File Manager I cannot copy files from one place to another.

Sounds like something is locked or write protected.

Any ideas to help me out folks?

Yep did that, the most prevalent suggestion is to press F5 on my FTP Client, FlashFXP, but that didn't help.

Even booting with AID I can't copy/move any files around my XBOX.

No read the wiki and manual about the changes regarding shortcut and XboxMediaCenter.xml.
