Ok this is probably the most noobiest of questions. However is there a guide that shows this, or can someone tell me how to, transfer some .wma songs I have on a dvd to my xbox hdd using xbmc? I am so totally frustrated and cant get it to take them. I tried the press Y and then the black button but that only saved a playlist of music on the dvd not the hdd? Please help before my head explodes.
you are trying to do file transfers. i don't know about you, but that makes me think 'my files' immediately.
anyway, there's your answer. use my files.
Use the filemanager (aka, my files) to copy them between shares (locations). If you want them accessible as custom ingame soundtracks, then you need other software.

You likely dont want to copy the .wma files into the UserData folder but into a folder like E:\music. And no, it wont be in the CDDB because thats only for CDDA. You'll need to tag the files accordingly and do a scan of the folder to get info.
