i mentioned this before in the middle of a thread about .ty support, but i figured i would address it as a real feature request and get any comments.

all tivo .ty files are interlaced. *they break up badly when there is any real motion. *i could be wrong, but i think everyone who views .ty files would prefer them to be deinterlaced since they don't look right otherwise. *

i think it would be a great addition to have xbmc auto deinterlace all .ty files by default regardless of the option in the video settings area. *that way people who play .ty files would not need to go to the settings area and turn on deinterlacing when playing a .ty file and then turn it back off when playing other files which are usually standard noninterlaced files.

all tivo .ty files are interlaced.
that's just not true though, at least not with a pal tivo.

i do think it would be great if xbmc got a better deinterlacing filter though, the current one doesn't really do much for interlaced pal video.
i haven't tried the deinterlace filter with any interlaced ntsc videos, does it properly deinterlace them?

the de-interlace filter seems to work fine on the few interlaced ntsc samples i've tried.

hi!

which deinterlacing method "deinterlace" option uses for movies?

it would be very important if you could add sub feature "force weave" which practically just forces deinterlace to force film method.

any chances?
