you can have 1 or the other but not both.

3 step process... 1 figure out which you want. 2. backup all your content. 3 find an xbox linux forum and ask them.

because while the linux os can be adjusted as i am lead to understand to recognize fatx it cannot run the executables because of the overall system demands. heres a link to the faq on the subject. granted i havent researched it endlessly but your question has been asked before and the answer has always been the same.

http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki....rnel.3f (http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/faq#why_not_develop_on_top_of_the_xbox_kernel.3f)

i stand corrected, there is a method described in the faq for installing linux using a "savegame option" that will leave the filesystem intact and simply adding it as an additional program or application. will have to look into this later today and let you know how it works out.

there are a few linux distributions that can be run as an app from any dash.
xdsl, gentoox and sxb to name a few.
i`d recommend xdsl to start off with its a small, easy to install and use.

go here (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=22) to find out more information and here (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=54192) to download some distributions from sourceforge.net.
you`ll find more help and links in the xbox scene forums.

alright, easy enough. i just transfered the files via flashftp, but... once it loads the linux, it wants to load a boot.cfg, and it only gives me two options: from cd/dvd, or from ftp... but the problem is the boot.cfg is located on the hd, and i do'nt have a dvd burner... and it won't recognize the regular cd i burned... so any suggestions now?

problem solved. just needed to extract the files to a specific point on the e:/... i dunno though, the only reason i'm doing this is so i can install and run a game that i believe will only run on windows. it's eve online. will somone with linux experience please see if eve online will even work with this xdsl nonsense?

i`ve got no idea about running window apps on the xbox.
the best place to find out is, like i mentioned in my last post, is xbox-scene.

windows on xbox. (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=68)

linux on xbox. (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=22)

You will not be able to play eve online or black and white 2 on the xbox unfortunately.
