with the as of late revamps it seems all the xml files have been migrating to userdata with the exception of filezilla.. i wonder if there is a reason and/or is it planned to move it later....

on a second thought.. did you guys leave it in the root in case of a fatal dash error (filezilla opens the default ftp and if it had to do that it wouldnt be able to load the settings)

and lastly.. did i just answer my own dumb a$$ question?

imo, the system should look for filezilla.xml in userdata and read that one if it is there... this allows the default to remain in system but the user to place/mod one in userdata if needed.

this gives a "fail safe" in case the custom xml in userdata cannot be read (i.e. corrupt or miss typed).
i'd just like to see all the "user specific and customized" info remain in userdata.

thoughts?

that is possible, though there will be no support for "corrupt or mis-typed" configuration files.

that's the best we can do.

imo noone need ever touch it anyway. the only thing you might want to change is user/pass which is sitting in the gui.
