alot of people in the know about the merits of pal vs. ntsc will complain about 'pal speedup'. this is because pal, running at 25fps has to run 1 frame per second faster than the film or ntsc original. what i was wondering is would it be possible to implement a toggle option to switch on pitch correction for pal sources, to bring the pitch down to the same as the ntsc original. intervideo has a feature that does this in windvd called 'pal truspeed'. the intervideo version only works on 2 channel sources, but xbmc, with it's internal 5.1 processing should have no problem applying this to 5.1 soundtracks as well. i guess the main question would be if the xbox would have the needed horsepower to do something like this on the fly, especially for 5.1 channels.
it isn't always noticable but the other day i was watching 'standing in the shadows of motown', and after listening to the soundtrack quite a bit i found the dvd sounded quite bad!
