T9 input for list controls

are there any plans to add t9 input to list controls? (similar to what windows media center does) i often find it frustrating navigating long lists. also it would be nice to have page up/down skip to the next/previous letter.

i realize that there is the search feature but i would rather not have to navigate away from the list.

i am using a december 2005 build. i'm pretty sure this feature does not exist. if it does, please excuse my asking.

i didn't mean t9. i meant something similar to how cellphones enter text for messaging.

mythtv added this sometime back along with an optional onscreen keyboard. ianap or i would have reviewed the code base myself. just thought i'd point out a pre-invented wheel.
