hi,
is it possible to stream movies via ftp to xbmc?
ie, can i place an ftp bookmark on xbmx, to my local ftp server?
sorry, can't be done, it needs to be done via the traditional streaming methods. learn how to set 'em up here. (http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de/wakka.php?wakka=pcsharingsetupv2&v=cqs)

you can stream via ftp. it's not really designed for it though, so as suggested, use smb or ccxstream if you can.

thx, but i cannot seem to stream reliably from my buffalo nas box.
both methods seem to be rubbish.
the cache fills ok, but after a short while, it reduces to 0, and i get skipping on the video.
ive had this issue for such a long time now that ive started resorting to copying the files across tot he xbox itself.
the network speeds are fine. i use poe which ftps files fine at a rate of over 15 mbits.
