how can i copy an audio cd without any quailty loss? i pretty much want to clone an cd audio for back up reasons with out any quailty loss. whats the best and quickest way to do this?

i had the idea of just extracting the cds image using golden hawk's cdrwin to a bin and bruning that? would that work with out any quailty loss? for those who know the program.

thanks in advance.

you should considering ripping using one of the lossless encoders such as flac http://flac.sourceforge.net/

you can play them directly with xbmc but another option flac gives you is the ability to recode to whatever other flavour of (lossy/smaller) audio format you like at a later date - then redo them if a new one comes out.

you could do it through xbmc with dvd2xbox too (I *think* it supports flac)

Nero and others have a "copy disc" feature

the ultimate cd ripper is ExactAudioCopy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de), and it's free. It is truly the only way to get guaranteed error-free audio, don't be fooled by anything else. Also, please check out the HydrogenAudio forums, too.
