Copying DVD Movie onto HD

hi,
i'm new to all this stuff so please forgive me if i do or say something wrong. i have an xbox with a mod chip, the latest evolutionx software (dashboard, media centre), and i just put in a 160gig hd. i know it is possible to copy games directly onto the hd (not that i know how to do it). is it possible for me to copy a movie onto the hd and watch it using the hd rather than the dvd player? if so i would greatly appreciate any instructions on how to do it. maybe there is a manual out there that has step by step instructions for using evox.

right, first things first i don't have/use evox so don't know how it might work with that...

...but i personally would use dvd2xbox if i wanted to backup a dvd on my xbox (i back dvds up on my pc using dvd shrink to cut down on space but thats just personal preference i suppose). bonus with dvd2xbox is that i use it to back up games too!

i've used unleashx as a dash in the past and it had the ability to copy a disc to the hard drive (games and films) and i'd guess evox can do something similar too you might just need to rumage around the dash a bit to find the option.

so what i'd suggest is get yourself a copy of dvd2xbox and your set. if not maybe head over to a dedicated evox board where people might be better able to help.
