just was trying to find a decent replacement for the music library in xbmc for the windows platform. anyone have any recommendations? i really dont like itunes and its format support is annoying (no flac, ape, ogg)

any thoughts on porting the library portion of xbmc over?
relying on an external player would be nice. then format support is external from the library orginizer. as well each db entry could maintain its relevent explorer context menu so if your player supports (add / clear and add / clear and play) you can use thoes when selecting songs

just thoughts :)

thanks

try foobar2000. its a very compact player that supports alot of formats and its extendable via a plugin api. it also has a library function but i've never used it.

I use Mediamonkey:

Its a really good Library with support for many filetypes.
One of its best features is the Autotagger: It loads data from amazon incl. the covers.

I wish there was a porting/convertion tool for MusicMatch (http://www.musicmatch.com) database/library, or that there was an open source player which featured sorting tools as good as MusicMatch, or maybe a WinAmp plugin
