DVD or CD Writer replacement

ok, another probably dumb question, but has anyone replaced the dvd drive in the xbox with a dvd writer? i have had a trawl around the net and not found anything regarding this...

i guess swapping the drive out is not a problem, but finding some drivers and/or software to allow disk burning within the xbox package might be more tricky?..

if its theoretically possible but never done due to software restrictions, perhaps someone could move this thread to the xbmc sugestions forum

this would be entirely possible if you ran linux on your xbox, otherwise your sol.

thanks for the reply.. im not intending running linux, just want to use it as a media centre really, so i guess the cd/dvd writer idea is dead!...
