XBMC is bland and white (no colors)

i have xbmc as dashboard. when i start my xbox the xbox logo turns up in green. but when xbmc is started, everything is in black and white. when i start a movie or play a game, everything still is in black and white.

when i go to display settings it says: ntsc. but i don't think that my television can handle ntsc. i think that's the reason everything is in black and white.

note: my xbox is a pal xbox and it's brand new.

why does xbmc automatically switch to ntsc? i can't find an option in xbmc to select pal. is there some other way to switch to pal?

i'm using xbmc.2006-01-08-clean

there should be an option is settings - display (i think it is) you should be able tp change it to pal 4:3 or pal 16:9

your eeprom is likely set to ntsc and/or pal60. this could be an artifact of running something like avalaunch or the x3 config panel or whatever. run it again and switch it back to pal.

i softmodded the xbox using auto-installer deluxe. then i installed xbmc.

what should i do different? is it a setting in aid you're referring to?

i've not installed avalaunch or x3 config panel or anything else.

nevermore: only ntsc is available in the xbmc settings.
