i was wondering if anyone here could help me. im having a problem with my player 2 controller port, whenever i insert a controller into it, it doenst respond, and i have tried it with 3 different controllers and the dvd attachment, none of which work in the 2nd controller slot, but all work in slots 1,3, and 4. what should i do about this/ any advice? my xbox is past its warrenty period. thanks!

check the internal connector, make sure no wires are loose.
besides that there is little you can do. if you have a multimeter set it on the ohms setting and trace the contacts back a little further on the board, make sure they are all connected.
check for pinched wires, use the ohm meter to check continuity of the wires. check the plug for broken/bent contacts.
you could even plug in a opened controller and check continuity from the controller to the inside of the xbox. make sure all wires make a connection.
