I got most of my shit back together (thanks everybody who helped me get it all back again) So theres an updated PDM online..on sourceforge.net available tru tortoiseSVN, so download the tool here (http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads) you'll need the following adress https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xboxmediacenter/PDM to make it all work, there are also some other skins there,
so check em out :;):

Just don't enable the login screen or propbably any of the new masterlock stuff

unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a linux version of the turtoisesvn utility, so can someone please make a build of this new version of the best skin there is and upload it somewhere so others can grab it without having to compile the xprs?!

Somewhere in the skin init it is calling the old xpr fonts. When I tried to switch to the skin I got a hard lock from XBMC with this in the error log

When I copied the fonts in there from pm3 it loaded fine.

also the item highlight in the listview on almost everything extends about 5 px below the bottom BG.

Is there anyway to change the highlight on the context menus that are using the PM3 Dialogs? I like the style but the grey highlight is kinda hard to make out with the strict black background, perhaps a light blue outline of the box?

If you need some screenshots let me know, Love the new OSD menu and hope the slide ani for the Video OSD works out.

Thanks for your feedback, yes you were prolly running NTSC/NTSC16x9 wich still had the old font.xml, this is fixed now.. but i'm not so sure about the size of the fonts so maybe you can try it out, feel free to drop some screenshots ;) ..thnx.

1) Is the scale different somehow? Yes, having zoom on "1.1" is maybe a bit too much, changed this back to the old setting wich was "1.0" wich is no zoom.

@Rand Al Thor: I didn't have an svn client until I followed Smokeheads directions a few posts back - installed TortoiseSVN, rebooted, and checked out into a folder using the url he gave. No probs, and I've Updated the folder a few times today, no prob.

@Smokehead: Looks better now. A few more nit-picks for your consideration:

1) "Use Glass Background Panel" is missing the on/off indicator

2) some capabilities of a widescreen aren't taken advantage of, for example:

it'd be nice if the Artist Name was right-aligned with the clock display, allowing more room for the Album title. (etc...this would apply to the other views as well).

I'm hoping this is something you'll want to make happen :o - if not, do you have any pointers on where to try to modify this?

Bug report:
Missing: the Page Up/Page Down v/^ arrows in the bottom right for music/videos/pictures. They work, if I move to where they should be, but they are not visible.

This might not be a skin problem actually but i set "use large thumbs" for music in settings and it never switches. I tried setting all the Viewmethod tags to a value of 2 in gui settings. Anyone know of a different way that i can specify that all of my bookmarks/shares default to large thumbs?

Unfortunately the home pics from his last build look like they are in a textures xpr file and I have no idea how to get them. I did create my own but I like the pics he had.

Try copying the old xpr file to the new pdm skin folder, see if that works.

Alas, it removes the cool glass effect and also the bar in Home buttonscroller.. Pictures work though.

What you CAN do, is putting your own pictures in the folders under \media, which will make them appear in the homescreen (Cheers Smokehead, awesome).

So happy customizing! :D

Yes it does work, but your right it does remove those other things. One other problem. Where is the icon for the eject tray? I have info,shutdown, restart and dashboard. Anyway to add an eject tray button?

Try putting stuff in the XBMC\skin\PDM\media\PIC something\ folders.... They'll show up in your homescreen.

But I have a few questions about this, which I'll direct to Smokehead:

* If I put in the .png's from PM3, my homescreen stays black, even when I save the .png's as .jpg.. Is there something I can do about this? Or something I should be doing, because I'm kinda noobish?? ;)

* If I put other pictures in there, for example some screens from Halo 2 and PGR2 for Programs (\media\PIC Games folder), they always seem to get stretched a bit wider than they are on my pc.. No matter what I do to the aspect ratio (getting the hang of this Photoshop now! :)), it seems to happen anyway...

Any ideas and / or comments?? I got the customizing-fever...!

In any case, thanks for an awesomely excellent skin. Keep it up! :D

I haven't tried what you're doing but...(1) did you check the setting in the Settings-PDM Options for the custom pictures Keep Aspect Ratio / Stretch To Fit? (2) If so, are you running the latest PDM version from the SVN - those options were behaving opposite in the initial new release.

Anyway, these ideas may not be relevant, just a thought, though.

Yeah I tried fiddling with that already, but the thing is: the Keep Aspect Ratio only applies to pictures from a folder you specified in "settings->PDM options->Customisations->Select an image folder to display in home"

What I do is put individual files in the media folders, specified to carry images for the Homescreen-options. This specification is found in Home.xml (in my case the one in XBMC\skin\PDM\PAL16x9, as I'm running widescreen)

I give each option about 3 or 4 pictures, so Game-shots for 'Programs', some of my own pic's for 'Pictures', maybe some bands and instruments for 'Music', etc. (yeah I removed the 'My' as well; just don't like it ;))

But with this comes a new aspect ratio problem as described in my previous post... :(

Although I'm having fun playing around with it, I hope some all-knowing skinner will point me in the right direction... :p

Hmmm... didn't do anything special, but now pictures stored for "programs" (folder is PIC Games) don't show up anymore.... They did yesterday...

Errm yeah... Been playing around, got nice pictures up for 'Music', 'Videos' and 'Pictures', ('Programs' still won't show any) then I stop music playback and my Homescreen is back to black. Starting music will make the pictures reappear again.

I'd say this isn't quite functioning the way I hoped it would, so forgive my waste of space in this thread.

Hey Smokehead...still lovin' this skin.

This pic shows two little glitches (present in PDM only, PMIII is OK), using latest SVN revision 76 and latest xbmc cvs:

(1) Bottom left corner should show PageUp/PageDown icons (v/^)

(2) When starting Party Mode, there is an extra bit of text "My Programs" in the "Mixing Drinks / Filling Glasses" labels

I guess number (1) is more important than (2), but I thought you should know.

there are some problems in the music-fullscreen-vis-menu.
the button to change the vis (goom, milkdrop, vortex...) is missing and the button to pop-up the vis-settings is missing to.

and why did you implement an audio-button? ???

feature-request: instead of using an audio-button... would it be possible do ad a button which pop-up the imdb-screen?

Smoke I noticed that there is a PM1 and PM2 skins in the svn. I'm having problems with the build bats in these skins. It doesn't create the media directory in the build folder. Just wondering if this is a problem on my end? Thanks!

ya gotta read earlier posts and follow the directions from the svn. You don't need any special software to build it up - all the resources and the executable are run from a one-click batch file, and the TortoiseSVN is free and easy to set up. Give it a try! Maybe soon it will be released, but in the meantime, it's easy to do yourself.

Thanks to Smokehead for a very cool skin. Its my new favorite... A couple of questions....

1. I use tortoise SVN for development work and I have populated my repository on my PC. Any idea how to get rid of all the .svn directories before I transfer to my xbox. I know how to do this with tar under unix but no idea under windows....

2. Using the File View of my Music folder. I have about 300 artists and folder.jpg's for each artist. When I try and scroll through the thumbnails the scrolling is extremely slow. I hear the disk thrash each time I scroll down a line. PMIII and MC360 can scroll through these thumbs very quickly. At least 50X faster. my guess is that these skins are caching the thumbnails where it seems this and some other skins like PMI, PMII, etc seem to load the icons when needed and cannot browse through the icons quickly... Any suggestions?

1) if your talking about PDM svn use the included build.bat then you only need the pdm folder in the build folder it will have no svn content

2) nothing to do with skins (caching) just disable the background animation and it will probably go faster and it should olny load the icons on first enter

Thanks again for the help. I put the properly built version of the skin on my xbox and the speed issue I was seeing before is gone.... no idea but it works fast enough even with all the animation on.

I did notice the library view is even faster...

Very cool skin.... All the tweaks take the PMIII base and make it even cooler...

looks amazing on my 61" DLP....

I have a bug to report...

If you are in the Music menu. Library View and use the set artist thumbnail button I will bring up a dir structure for your to browse and find the thumbnail...

If the view is a list view often the highlighted menu item will not appear. When I goto to the OK button and try to scroll back up it takes two extra clicks to get the highlighted object back on the screen. If I hit select without having the cursor visible it selects an object that follows the current objects on the screen (not even one of the current visible choices...). I can consistently reproduce this one....

Anyways i have stared to update PDM again, this means updating all the xmls to the new 2.1 layout, furthermore there will be new lists and icon panels with scrollbars and such, stage 1 is completed wich was the 2.1 code update..more to come soon :nod:

Downloaded the latest build.
One thing that doesn't work is the "PDM Options" screen.
The screen shows up as it should, but when I try to select any of the options in the "Home options", "Customisations" and so on, the right part of the screen with all the options just go blank.
The only one that works is the "Animate skin" option.

Bit of a bummer, since it's a great skin.

Great, thanks! Probably the best skin yet imho.

But the Customisations with pictures works a bit poorly. Sometimes it works to set specific pictures, most times it does'nt. And the "reset custom images" should probably set all to the image that's there by default in the first place. Right now I dunno if the button does anything at all for me.

The "Select image folder" seems to work perfectly though.

Hi Smokehead - Fantastic piece of work - I am torn between this one and the Clearity skin. I really like the Main page on this one!

Anyway that the wraplists are going to make an appearance in this skin? If so that might actually sway me to this one as that is an awesome way to view the library.

Been using this skin for a long time now, it's great.

However, the newer versions have smaller fonts, which makes for difficult reading on my standard PAL 16x9 tv.. (actually have the same problem with Clearity, which is also awesome)

Is there anyway of increasing the size of the fonts??

Skin zoom helps a little, but I can only zoom so far without losing stuff offscreen...

This thread appears to be dying so i may post in the support thread, but i need some help that is specific to the PDM skin (by far my favourite and best looking XBMC skin).

Basically my "Set Content" option in the context menu does not work. It freezes up, you have to hit the menu button to get active again after which nothing has changed. This means that I can't create a Video Library in PDM, which i'm sure must be wrong.

Has anyone else had this problem, or can someone point me to what could be wrong with the skin/XBMC engine? Video Library options work in every other skin i've tried but the functions just don't appear to work in PDM - i've tried on the most recent build and the couple before it but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated!
