hello all, i just got a new 27" panasonic tv the other day. now xbmc looks soo much better. what i was wondering, is can i reprogram the keymaps to use another remote with xbmc? i already turned on <displayremotecodes>true</displayremotecodes> but it does not display any codes besides the offical xbox remote's.

i was trying this with the panasonic remote that came with my tv. i was hoping to use the dvd button to control the xbox.

anyone have any ideas? do i have to buy a true universal remote or something?

theoretically you cannot use a remote from a device for another device because of the different codes and different buttonmappings. in some cases you can just use simple/basic functions from the remote for other devices, like using tv remote for dvd player, etc..

the best way would be to use a universal remote (one for all) which controls all (most) devices. i have a universal remote with learning function, which i reporgrammed to match the original xbox ms dvd remote codes.

if you're tv remote allows you to enter codes for different dvd players, you should be able to use it. try various rca dvd remote codes. one will likely work.
