alright so i took a bunch of my friend's dbz dvds (not retail) with about 12 mpeg4 encoded tv episodes on each disc and reburnt them on quality media that my xbox would read.

now the discs work just fine in my computer and play back just fine, too. in the xbox the first movie on the disc will play (there is a play icon on the bottom right corner, i believe in the newest version, video autoplay must be enabled by default) but in the file viewer and the my videos tab, the disc is blank. the title of the disc is shown properly but the files just aren't selectable. man i'd be really upset if i spent all this time backing up these dvds to my hd then reburning only to find out they wont play in the xbox!

*edit*
i think i may have found the issue. in windows these discs are the 'udf' format. my understanding (well at least now after searching) is that the xbox had limited capabilities with the udf format? is there any xbox media program that can play these discs?
is there anything i can try to make this work?

that's your problem, they need to be burnt as iso.
