i compiled today(4 nov) and now all my dvd images hangs on start when played with dvdplayer.
worked fine on nov 1 build
can this be the culprit?

yes i believe it is. mine was hanging last night after new compile but im not near my xbox now to debug but im 99% sure that its the culprit.

i'm having the same problem. dvd player crashes when trying to start a movie. everything was fine before. just started doing this yesterday when i updated the build.

i can confirm this as well. playing dvd's (both video_ts.ifo or img files) crash xbmc. i was able to play a img file by forcing mplayer as the player. it seems to only be dvd's. i was able to play some mpeg files with the dvdplayer.
