we currently got:
cross fading, karaoke and cool vizs..
wouldn't it be great if we could have a way to mix 2 tracks ourselves like a dj would?
having the headset as a way to sync 2 tracks and with a push of the button get it to fade in and actually mix 2 tracks?
would also make kind of a neat party killer if possible with 2 controllers as well so you can mix with some friends!! :kickass:

bump.. noone? still think it's a wicked idea, especially at parties. post 2.0 new feature for the devs to challenge?!

i expect mplayer or the other players have no facility for changing the playing speed of digital media so beat mixing would be impossible.

i could be wrong.

a quick search let me believe it can do that:

ok i see, but in xbmc when using the mplayer for mp3 playback we aren't able to play two instances simultaneously. hence usinf ffmpeg for crossfade. if ffmpeg also has variable speed control it would be possible i suppose. the question is, who's going to code such a cool but minority feature?
